"I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me."

Psalms 119:102

----------

The evening sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the small garden in front of their house. Julyanna sat on the wooden porch steps, watching the sunlight filter through the leaves of the trees. Trisha was beside her, sipping tea, her expression calm but thoughtful. It had been a long week—work had been stressful, and they had barely found time to sit together like this.

Trisha glanced over at Julyanna, noticing the pensive look on her face. "You've been quiet today," she said softly, her voice breaking the peaceful silence. "What's on your mind? "

Julyanna sighed, leaning back on her hands and looking up at the sky. "I've just been thinking about everything. Life, work, all the stress. Sometimes, I wonder if I'm handling things the right way."

Trisha nodded, understanding. "It's been a lot lately. But you always do your best, Juls. What's making you doubt yourself? "

Julyanna hesitated, choosing her words carefully. "I guess I've been feeling disconnected. I've been going through the motions, but I don't feel as centered as I used to. You know how I've always tried to follow God's teachings, to live according to what He's shown us. But lately, I feel like I'm not as focused on that. Like maybe I've turned aside without even realizing it."

Trisha looked at her with concern, setting her cup down on the porch beside her. "You think you've drifted? "

"I don't know," Julyanna said, shaking her head. "It's not like I've done anything majorly wrong. But I just feel like I'm not fully paying attention to what God's been teaching me all this time. Like I'm not holding on to it the way I should."

Trisha reached out and gently took Julyanna's hand. "I know how that feels. Life has a way of pulling us in so many directions, and it's easy to get distracted. But you've always been committed to God's path. That hasn't changed, even if you feel a little off course right now."

Julyanna smiled weakly, grateful for Trisha's steady presence. "I hope so. I was reading this verse earlier; it says, I do not turn aside from your rules, for you have taught me. It reminded me that God has already taught me so much, and it's up to me to stay true to what I've learned, even when life gets chaotic."

Trisha nodded thoughtfully, taking in Julyanna's words. "That's a powerful verse. It's easy to think that when we're overwhelmed, we've lost our way. But maybe it's more about remembering the lessons God has already given us. We don't have to figure everything out from scratch. He's already shown us the way, and we just need to keep walking in it."

Julyanna looked at Trisha, a sense of relief washing over her. "That's exactly it. God's taught me so much over the years—about love, patience, and faithfulness. And even when I feel disconnected, those lessons are still there. I just need to hold on to them and not turn aside."

Trisha squeezed her hand gently. "You haven't turned aside, Juls. You're still following His path. Sometimes, the road gets bumpy, but that doesn't mean you've lost your way. God's been teaching you all along, and those lessons don't disappear just because things are hard."

Julyanna felt her heart lighten, her worries beginning to fade. "You're right. I've been letting the stress get to me, but I can't forget what He's already shown me. I just need to stay true to that."

Trisha smiled warmly, her eyes full of understanding. "Exactly. And you're not alone in this. We'll keep reminding each other of what God's taught us, and we'll stay on that path together."

They sat in silence for a while, the sounds of the evening settling in around them. The wind rustled the leaves, and the sky darkened into shades of purple and blue. Julyanna felt a sense of peace returning, a quiet confidence in the lessons she had learned from God over the years. Life might be overwhelming at times, but those teachings were a solid foundation she could always rely on.

As the stars began to appear in the sky, Julyanna looked over at Trisha, feeling grateful for her unwavering support. "Thank you, Trisha. For being here, for always reminding me of what's important."

Trisha smiled and rested her head on Julyanna's shoulder. "We're in this together, Juls. Always."
