"She shouldn't have been executed yet, but why do you want to see her?" Ning Chen asked.

Ye Yun looked at her current state and realized she couldn't go out. However, she insisted, "I just have something to ask her. I wonder if Your Majesty would allow me to let Huiyue visit her."

Since it wasn't a major issue, Ning Chen naturally agreed.

Huiyue was called in, and Ye Yun instructed her from behind the curtain to go see Qin Shi. She also asked Huiyue to help her sit up to talk.

Taking this opportunity to be close, Ye Yun lowered her voice and whispered three words into Huiyue's ear: "Jing Xian Fei."

Huiyue immediately understood her meaning and subtly nodded.

After she left, Ye Yun then said, "Your Majesty, please have someone bring the children to me. I haven't seen them yet."

Ning Chen nodded and sent someone to fetch them.

Before long, a wet nurse arrived holding two children.

Ye Yun hesitated for a moment but then proactively lifted the curtain.

Naturally, she didn't look her best at that moment. Although she had produced a lot of sweat during childbirth and her body had been cleaned, her hair hadn't been washed. Even though it had been dusted with jasmine powder, it didn't look as refreshing as if it had been properly washed.

Ye Yun was still wearing a headband that she hadn't worn when giving birth to the Fourth Prince.

It wouldn't be fair to call her ugly, as her features were still there, but she certainly didn't have her usual elegance.

However, since she had already lifted the curtain, she was no longer afraid for Ning Chen to see her.

Her thoughts were different now; she wanted Ning Chen to see her struggles, to remember how close she had come to losing her life.

And this tactic proved to be effective.

Ning Chen looked at the pale-faced woman before him and thought of her past self, feeling an urge to cradle her in his hands and cherish her even more.

What kind of suffering must she have endured to look so haggard?

"Your Majesty, look at the children, not me," Ye Yun said with a slight smile. "I can see that the Sixth Prince has inherited my eyes."

Hearing this, Ning Chen lowered his head to look.

Indeed, the Sixth Prince's eyes bore a resemblance to Ye Yun's peach blossom eyes.

"The princess looks like you, Your Majesty. Her eyes are just like Jing'er's when he was a child," Ye Yun added.

Disappointment seeped through her words.

Ning Chen smiled, "What's wrong? Didn't you say before that they look like me?"

"Jing'er is a boy. It's true that our daughter doesn't resemble me either. Out of the three children, two look more like you," Ye Yun muttered.

"It doesn't matter who they resemble; they are all our children." Ning Chen reached out to touch Ye Yun's cheek, his eyes filled with tenderness.

A smile also overflowed from Ye Yun's eyes. She looked down at the children and asked, "Have you thought of names for them, Your Majesty?"

It had been mentioned long ago, but it had been a while, and she wondered what characters Ning Chen had come up with.

"I've already thought of them. The Sixth Prince will be called Yu Xun, and the Fourth Princess will be called Zhi Yuan," Ning Chen said gently.
