"Am I cute..?", "The cutest girl in the world". The words repeated in Himiko's head. A harsh yellow light flickered above her, emitting an annoying buzz. Her limbs constrained to the hospital bed she lay upon, Toga stared at the plain ceiling. She did not take notice of the officers stationed by her sides, they did not matter, only Ochako's words. The walls around her felt as if they were closing in every time those words were repeated. A soft smile painted her face.
*creakkkkk* The hospital door slowly opened. Himiko looked over, finally silencing her thoughts. "I see you're awake." It was a pro hero. Himiko recognised him from UA. "I'm sure you recognise me." it was Ereaserhead. "Yes I remember, Tomura used to talk about you requently." she replied, rolling her eyes. The officers stationed by her bed left the room, leaving only Toga and Aizawa alone.
"I need to ask you a few questions" Aizawa began as he took a seat a few feet away from her, holding a sheet of paper. Himiko sighed, another hero here to question her, she was better off asleep. She tightened her grip as she grabbed the constraints to her hands, "You're not the first" she replied. The tension in the room was so thick a knife would not make it through, they each stared at each other, a blank expression on both their faces. Neither of them knew what to say. "I understand you likely are not in the position where you want to talk but at least listen to my questions." The girl nods, not like she could say no anyway. "Whatever, I'm sure it'll be the same as before."
Ereaserhead began his questions, each one being predictable, a recited poem of meaningless words. Himiko did not to respond, a waste of time is all it was. Aizawa slowly became more and more frustrated, eventually putting down the sheet of paper in his hands. "This is truly meaningless..." he began as Toga stared, another hero gave up. Typical. "I have one more question for you, Himiko Toga" he stood up from his seat and came closer, close enough that she could touch him despite her constraints. He kneeled down and asked one simple question. "What does Ochako mean to you?" She froze. There were so many words she could say, so many emotions. She looked the hero straight into his eyes, not stopping to blink. Himiko drew a deep breath and replied, "Ochako is the only thing I don't want to lose."
Aizawa smiled at the girls words. "Please elaborate." he said in a soft tone, much softer than before. He sounded not like an uncaring hero only there for answers, but like a friend who was only there to listen. "Ochako told me I'm the cutest girl in the world. She's the first person to tell me that. We talked about love together and she listened to me. I want to keep her promise. I want to have her blood for the rest of my life." The words fell out of Togas mouth, as if she had no control over what she was saying. It was all true, every word.
Aizawa watched for signs of deception but there were none. This villain was honest with him, she was telling him her deepest and truest feelings. "Thank you, Himiko Toga. That's all I really wanted to hear." he sighed in relief and stood up once more. "Thank you for your time, but I'm afraid that this where we part." Ereaserhead turned to leave... "WAIT!" the young girl screamed. Tears began to trickle down her face as her cheeks flushed. "I have one question for you, Ereaserhead." her voice cracking through the tears. He faced her once again, but did not speak. Only a nod, that was all she needed. "Is Ochako okay?" she asked. Silence. Time went still, nothing moved, no-one spoke. Not even the buzzing of the light could be heard. It was as if everything was frozen in place as she awaited an answer.
"The cutest in the world" she could hear her again. The words spun in her head, like a tornado it repeated over and over. Were those really some of the last words Ochako would speak? "She's recovering well, I'm sure you will get a visit from her soon." The world was not longer still. All Toga could do was smile. "Would they really let me see her?" she asked with excitement. Ereaser smiled, "I'll make sure they do." He was so kind. Despite everything she had done, the people she had hurt, the lives she had took and yet he was still kind to her. Was this really a world that could accept her? "Thank you..." she muttered. And just like that he left, and Himiko was alone again. Alone with the words repeating in her head.
