"One cannot escape their fate, but their path may be altered, potentially resulting in a different outcome." A.C. Heller

Haruto lay wide awake in his bed, the events of the day replaying in his mind like a broken record. The walls of his room felt like they were closing in on him, the shadows flickering ominously in the dim light. He couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that had settled deep within him. Was it really just a nightmare? Or had he stumbled into a reality that would forever alter the course of his life?

His heart raced as he considered the implications of the game. The entity's words echoed in his ears, a haunting melody that twisted his stomach into knots. "Only one can win." Those words weren't just a threat; they were a challenge. A call to arms that would pit friend against friend.

Haruto sat up and glanced at his phone, the screen illuminating his face. He opened the app that had mysteriously appeared after the incident. The digital notebook flickered to life, revealing the chilling message: **"1 classmate down, 12 remaining."** The stark reality of it sent shivers down his spine. It was not just a game-it was a brutal reality where life and death hung in the balance.

He took a deep breath, trying to steady his racing thoughts. The urge to protect Sakura surged within him. She had offered him a lifeline, a chance to escape the darkness that threatened to consume them both. But how could they possibly outsmart an entity that toyed with their lives?

As morning light began to creep through his window, Haruto decided he couldn't sit idly by. He needed to gather information, to understand the rules of this deadly game. He remembered the frantic whispers of his classmates, the fear in their eyes. They were all in this together, yet they were also potential threats. Trust was a precarious thing.

With newfound determination, he grabbed his backpack and headed to school. The streets felt different, the world outside alive with an energy he'd never noticed before. Each passerby seemed like a participant in the same game, their lives intertwined with his in ways he couldn't comprehend.

Arriving at school, Haruto was met with a somber atmosphere. Classmates huddled in small groups, speaking in hushed tones. The absence of laughter sent a chill down his spine. As he entered the classroom, he noticed Sakura sitting alone, her expression a mix of worry and resolve.

"Hey," he said softly, sliding into the seat beside her.

She looked up, relief washing over her features. "I was worried you wouldn't come."

"I had to. We need to talk about what happened," he replied, glancing around to ensure no one was eavesdropping.

Sakura nodded, her eyes darting to the front of the classroom where their teacher stood, an unusual tension hanging in the air. "I think we need to gather everyone together. If we're going to survive, we need a plan."

Haruto hesitated. "But can we trust anyone? What if they turn against us?"

Sakura bit her lip, contemplating his words. "We can't afford to think like that. We need allies. Besides, you and I can keep each other safe."

"Right," he agreed, feeling a flicker of hope. "Let's talk to the others after class."

As the teacher droned on about the "language of time and fate," Haruto's mind wandered. The idea of manipulating fate intrigued him, but he couldn't shake the feeling that this was all part of the game-a ruse to distract them.

Suddenly, the classroom door swung open, and Kaito walked in, a grim expression etched on his face. The whispers died down, and all eyes turned to him. "We need to talk," he stated, his voice low but urgent.
