Prologue: Crazy Town

Backstage Dressing Room, Baltiney, New York.....

Thousands of screams filled the ears of a lone seventeen-year-old six foot-five leather vest-wearing Italian-Castilian-Irish lad as he stood behind the massive black curtain looming above him as he attempted to get his nerves in order. He had done this about half a dozen times and still nothing ever compared to the intense energy from when he could feel the rumbling of the crowd and the pounding rhythm of his own heartbeat in the wake of one of his highly packed and sold-out performances. He took a moment to take it all in, as he usually does when he was going to perform, with a packed house he knew just what set the audience would be in the mood for in terms of his music. He had a natural talent for turning poems into songs and giving words to emotions most had never even considered and with the right music and eclectic guitar solo he had a way of making people feel what he felt in the moment.

He had a knack for infusing '60s rock n roll, rhythm and blues, and 80's power ballads and pop into songs that propelled him to the ranks of a legend, at least in the minds of his fans. His signature songs had never in his life had he imagined him making poems in his notebook and sketching by the large oak tree near Theodore Trimbrinner High School, in the sleepy blue-collar town of Darrington, New Hampshire would lead to him getting here, standing backstage at a sold-out concert of his own in front of millions of adoring fans.

He had been able to play instruments since he'd been a little kid, starting with the drums beating on things around the house and enjoying the noise that eventually became rhythmic tunes that he couldn't get out of his head.

From the pots and pans to a drum set in the old garage his father had been a trooper supporting his interest in music even when it had seemed more like a hobby as the years passed.

He began to take an interest in electric and regular guitar and fell in love with it ever since. He'd been half self-taught and eventually found out his natural talent had been the result of his father a blue-collar construction worker who gave up his dreams of being a famous musician to be a provider for his young family.

It only boosted the lone figure's curiosity to see how high he could climb in the music world before he gave in and called it quits. Fortunately for him, he didn't have to go through rich executives and back yard dealing with faulty contracts or selling out. He had gotten his success by accident and as it stands organically on a whim.

An ingenious music app had been the catalyst for making all his musical dreams come true and no one had been any the wiser where he'd grown up. He used the lack of public exposure to his advantage keeping his overnight success and vast wealth a secret from most of his family members and his closest friends, associates, and most of all his high school classmates.

His life had been a scramble ever since his first measure of success that he had not seen coming in a million years, if someone had told him about it he'd have laughed himself silly or into a nuthouse.

Being 17 years old and well into his school work and football groove, he had not really thought much about life outside of Darrington, New Hampshire. Let alone how he'd end up making a killing off the one song written about a girl he knew he couldn't have just from having to endure her annoyances at school from day to day.

The most requested song and a bonafide chart-topper, the raw angsty ballad of lust and desire crooned out to his newly changed post-puberty deep baritone drawl,  with a catchy beat and a head-scratching familiar sound combination of 80's Power Ballad and provocative 60s rock flavor, Look And Touch, The uptempo pop beat of the 80s for She's A Wild One, had been an instant classic. As had been Until The Wheels Fall Off an ode to the days of classic 60s rock and roll.

With every hit, no one back home in Darrington, New Hampshire would ever guess that their classmate and local town hero football quarterback was the same one rocking out on their radios and high-tech phones, that they'd been blasting his rocker tunes all over the school campus and that he not only had billions from his songs and albums, but he had also been a self-made billionaire businessman.

Even standing backstage at a sold-out concert with his name as the headliner, he had not been one to believe it himself even as he took his deep breathes steadied his nerves, and leaned into the waves of the music that had been aching to flow through him since before he was born.

To them, he was just a plain old blue-collar football prodigy who dabbled in music and a bit of artistic sketching now and again, that quiet kid with jock-given talents on the football field when they needed a big gain against any team opposing The Timberwolves of Theodore Trimbrinner High School, Eldridge Nathaniel Malcolm Vegarossi.

He smirked as he continued to hear the spirited ruckus of the adoring crowd that had gathered to hear him play his former poems turned into powerful rock n roll tunes. His blue iconic electric guitar strapped across his chest and his now infamous trademark modern greaser look. a couple of swift and slow hand swipes ensure his grease and water-soaked black locks lay back as he wants them to.

Tonight in front of that crowd he wasn't just a self-made billionaire philanthropist businessman with impressive real estate and commercial businesses. He was still very much that charismatic and charming musically inclined seventeen-year-old boy who unbeknownst to his peers had been truly Eldridge Vegarossi

But tonight he was his alter ego, out there on that stage where he had come alive.

The crowd had only known him as Calum "Rigger" Blackwood, but he had been known to the world as Rockerboy69.

If his friends had school had only known, they would have declared he'd been in crazy town.
