☆ Part 8 ☆

The next day you awoke to a knock on your door. It wasn't a regular knock though, it had a certain rhythm to it.

"Um... HELLO?" You called from your bed.

"Hi it's Sahed, come to breakfast!!" he shouted from the other side of the door.

"One minute, I'm gonna change out of my pajamas" you told him as you scrambled to get dressed, not wanting to be seen in your pj's again.

"Ugh ok hurry up" he sighed, you could hear that he was obviously joking but hurried anyway, it was nice of him to come get you and wait for you and you didn't want to keep him waiting.

After that you guys walked to breakfast and ate with the group, then it was time to go to practices or jobs or whatever people did in the circus. You felt a little awkward because you had nothing to do today so Julia showed you how to carve wood just for fun. It was harder than you thought and you just ended up with a blob. After that she also had to go do something so you were alone once more. You decided to go see what Kamille was up to since you hated just doing nothing.

When you arrived at the workshop you saw her frantically organizing fabrics and costumes in an attempt to clear up some space.

"No no no this is your day off! You did too much yesterday" she shooed you out, trying to hide the mess that she still had to put away.

"Why don't you go visit Sahed? You two seem close" she pointed out as she attempted to block the doorway. You decided to let it go and go along with what she was saying. Somehow the room was even crazier than yesterday and it seems that her efforts to organize things ended up making a bigger mess.

"Ok ok fine I'll go! Good luck with... *that*" you gestured to the mess of fabrics spilling out of an overfilled cabinet as you left.

After that you meandered your way to Sahed and Rainah's room to see if he was there. You knocked and Rainah opened the door.

"Sahed your... friend... or whatever is here" she said over her shoulder to him, clearly unsure what was the deal with you guys.

"Oh! Hi y/n! What's up?" He waved from behind her and she let you into the room.

"I have nothing to do today, what are you up to?" You asked, hoping he had something more interesting going on than you did.

"Oh it's-" he was cut off by Rainah.

"On a need to know basis" she finished for him, clearly thinking that you didn't need to know whatever they were doing.

Behind them there was a mess of papers on the ground with different seals and sigils on them, similar to the ones that were tattooed on his arms. There were also many books open around the floor. Whatever it was looked very complicated and far beyond your understanding.

"Ah- um ok. Sorry to interrupt, bye" you quickly realized that they were doing magic stuff and didn't want to interfere. You knew that magic was illegal and didn't really want to get involved anyway, still not quite used to everything.

"It's ok, see you later!!" He waved from behind her as you walked away.

"Gosh Rainah, come on!" You heard him whisper shout as she shut the door. You chuckled to yourself. Finding his reaction funny. Rainah definitely didn't seem like someone you wanted to mess with so you decided it was best if you just stayed out of their way.

You went back to your room because you didn't know what else to do. You used the puppet paint to make a few paintings for your walls, trying to make your new room feel more like home. After a while though, you got bored of that even, feeling like you were going stir crazy, you made your way back to the workshop. You were going to bother Kamille until she gave you something to do.
