Beep. Beep. Beep. The sound of Cola's alarm shook through his skull, forcing him to open his eyes and wake up.

As he grabbed his phone and turned it off, he looked at the time. 7:30 AM, that confirms it. He completely forgot to turn his alarm off, which was only there in the first place because he had to go to a dentist appointment early in the morning yesterday and accidentally put it on for every day. Good thing they didn't find any cavities, though, because his mom definitely would've killed him.

He looked back at his phone, and there was a text from his mom sent half an hour ago, which read "Come downstairs quick!!!!" followed by an excited emoji. What could've possibly happened today? Were the Kalos Championships starting already?

Thinking his mom would get mad if he spent too long waiting, he quickly got dressed and grabbed the Pokeball on his nightstand, which contained his partner Farfetch'd, before walking down the stairs from his room.

Walking down the stairs, he saw his mom at the table, drinking a cup of coffee. Her partner Goomy was also sitting on the table, slurping from a large tub of honey, clearly very happy with its sweet treat.

When she noticed him walking the stairs, she suddenly got up. "Finally, you're awake!" She exclaimed excitedly. Usually his mom wasn't this excited, or even in a good mood, so something was definitely up.

"What's going on?" Cola asked.

"Your application came back!" She replied.

"What application?" He asked.

"You don't remember? We applied like two months ago to the Potaro Trainer's Academy in the Potaro region!" His mom explained.

Now he realized what was going on. Two months ago, he'd applied to the Potaro Trainer's Academy, which was in a completely different region known as the Potaro Region, because it was rumored to be the very best and most prestigious place any trainer could go to. If he already got a letter back, that means he either got accepted or denied.

"Oh shoot, I forgot!" He suddenly shouted. "Where's the letter at?"

His mom pulled it out from her pocket. "I've had it with me since it got delivered. I was going to open it and just tell you, but I decided it'd be better if we opened it together to make it more of a surprise."

He grabbed the letter and ripped it right open. Inside the letter was a tiny piece of paper with a stamped symbol of two islands on it, the signature symbol of the academy. There was also a letter with the following words on it:

To Mr Morula

We've received your application to enter our prestigious academy, and it is with great pleasure that I and the rest of the Potaro Trainer's Academy's Committee of Admissions inform you that we have decided to accept you into our school. We are definitely in need of those who enjoy the thrill of battle while also knowing how to take care of the partners they have outside of battle. You've shown us that you have these requirements, and I'm delighted that you're going to part of our newest semester in the next week.

Our school's motto, "Veritas et Justitia" - "Truth and Justice" - has guided our trainers ever since we first opened our doors, and we hope that it will guide you just as much. Inside this letter is an airplane ticket to the Potaro Region, since you're in a different region and we want to cover the cost. Once you land, there's going to be a bus waiting for you- you'll know it when you see it.

Congratulations on getting accepted into our school, and we hope to see you next week!

Stacy Romulo, Dean of Admissions.

An airplane ticket reading "To Autumaro City, Potaro, Seat 32F" was also inside of the letter, as well as a cute little keychain with the school symbol on it.

"Holy shit!" Cola shouted as he jumped out of the chair he was sitting in. "I got accepted!"

He immediately pulled out his Pokeball and tossed out his partner, a tiny brown bird carrying a leek named Farfetch'd. "Farfetch'd! We got accepted!" He shouted.

"Far-faa!" Farfetch'd shouted in surprise.

Cola's mom was also cheering with joy, and the only one who wasn't doing anything was Goomy, who was still slurping on the honey.

After a couple of minutes, everyone calmed down.

"Alright mom, we still have a couple of days until my flight, so I think I'm gonna go train on route 1. Me and Farfetch'd definitely need the experience before we go." Cola said.

"Good idea!" His mom replied as she pulled out some potions and gave them to Cola. "Train as much as you can, and use these if you need to!"

"Alright, thanks Mom!" He thanked as he walked out the door. "Let's go, Farfetch'd!" He called to Farfetch'd.

Together, the two of them walked towards Route 1, ready to start training.
