In class, Eleanora sat in her usual seat while Stiles leaned closer to Scott. "If Derek isn't the Alpha, if he's not the one who bit you, then who did?"
Scott shook his head. "I don't know."
Stiles rested his head against his seat's backboard. "Did the Alpha kill the bus driver?"
"I don't know."
Stiles pouted and Eleanora rolled her eyes at their lack of subtlety.
Stiles asked, "Does Allison's dad know about the Alpha?"
"I don't know. Jeez."
During their whole discussion, the teacher had been handing back their tests. Eleanora knew she wouldn't do well. She never did well on tests. The teacher handed her test back with a frown. She flipped the page over to see a big fat 'F'.
"Unsurprising," she muttered.
Scott's test was passed back and she see a 'D' on his. Stiles got an 'A'. He looked at their papers and said, "You guys need to study more." He earned a glare from Eleanora and Scott. "That was a joke, you two. It's one test. You guys can make it up. Do either of you want help studying?"
Scott shook his head with a smile. "No. I'm studying with Allison after school today."
Stiles gave him a wide grin. "That's my boy."
"We're just studying."
Stiles shot his friend a look. "Uh, no, you're not."
"No, I'm not?"
"Not if I'm forced to live vicariously through you. If you go to her house today and squander that colossal opportunity, I swear to God I'll have you de-balled."
Eleanora rolled her eyes once again. The bell rang and they left the school.
Scott let out a sigh. "Okay. Just -- Stop with the questions, man."
Stiles nodded. "Done. No more questions. No more talk about the Alpha or Derek. Especially Derek -- who still scares me."
In the school parking lot, Eleanora climbed into the Jeep. Stiles climbed in shortly after her, and threw his backpack into the back.
He backed up from his space and drove towards the exit. Someone appeared right in front of the Jeep holding up a hand in a stop motion. "Oh, my God," Stiles muttered.
Eleanora followed him out and as soon as she reached the figure, Derek, he fell to the ground. Cars behind the Jeep started honking.
"My gods you're kidding me," Eleanora muttered. "We need to move him. Scott's coming."
Derek grabbed her wrist and she tried to lift him up. But due to her small stature, she didn't do much, and he fell. Scott and Stiles rushed over to help her. "Oh no, no -- no -- no, not here!" Scott exclaimed.
"You've gotta be kidding me. This guy's everywhere-" Stiles began.
Eleanora frowned. "Why are you here, Derek?"
He gave her a look before saying, "I was shot."
Stiles glanced at Scott. "He's not looking so good, dude."
Scott turned to Derek. "Why aren't you healing?"
Derek sighed painfully. "I can't. It was -- it was a different kind of bullet."
"A silver bullet?" Stiles wondered.
"No, you idiot," Derek said with a scoff.
Scott's eyes widened a little. "Wait, wait. That's what she meant when she said you had 48 hours."
