Bad Day

“You’ve got to be kidding me, in a public toilet? Are you serious?” Jake was, understandably, disappointed.

After his last class, Jake followed Sunghoon back to his apartment. Which meant Heeseung wasn’t allowed to come over, and Sunghoon was kind of grateful for that. He loved having sex with Heeseung, but even he needed a break and they had already fucked thrice in two days. There had to be some sort of problem with Heeseung’s libido if he still wasn’t satisfied, because Sunghoon refused to believe he wasn’t a good enough fuck. Besides, if that were the case, he doubted Heeseung would continue coming to him. He could get almost anyone he wanted, so settling for mediocre was not something he’d have to subject himself to.

“It’s not like it was planned,” Sunghoon tried to excuse their actions.  “And it wasn’t even my idea in the first place,” he defended himself, though he should have probably thought that one for a second longer.

Jake didn’t look impressed at all. “Didn’t you fuck like, two nights ago? How often do you even— you know what? I don’t actually want to know.”

“Um…” Sunghoon felt judged, even if that wasn’t Jake’s intention.

“Oh my god…” Jake sighed, defeated. “He came for his clothes, didn’t he?”

“Yeah,” Sunghoon nodded, avoiding Jake’s eyes at all cost.

“He didn’t just take his clothes and leave, did he?” If this hadn’t essentially been an interrogation towards him, Sunghoon would be impressed by Jake’s ability to figure everything out with minimal information.

“Now, listen—” Sunghoon would come up with a reasonable enough excuse for them, he just needed a minute to think.

“Absolutely none of this sounds casual,” Jake interrupted him before he could find logic to their actions. “If you were to ask me, this sounds like two people obsessed with each other,” his tone wasn’t even accusing, he seemed to want Sunghoon to realise something. Though, what exactly Sunghoon had yet to figure out.

“Well, no one is asking you,” Sunghoon decided to close himself off. Not only because he didn’t know what else to say, but because he’d talked to Jake about this already and he wanted his decision to be respected. Even if it seemed irrational or stupid to Jake.

For a beat, Jake was taken aback, clearly he hadn’t realised he’d overstepped. “You are right,” he accepted easily. “I’m sorry, you know I worry sometimes,” Jake apologised. “I won’t bring it up again, but…” he hesitated before speaking, probably reevaluating whether it’d be something that Sunghoon didn’t want to hear.

Sunghoon didn’t like that Jake was holding back his thoughts for his sake, though. He just didn’t want a repeat of their previous conversation. “We can talk about it again, but maybe… don’t insist if I say it’s fine?”

“Okay,” Jake nodded. It seemed like a good enough compromise. “I was thinking that, if you want this to be a secret, you two need to be more discreet… doing it in a public bathroom in the middle of the day does not seem like a good idea if you don’t want anyone finding out.” Sunghoon couldn’t help but agree with Jake.

“I know,” he almost whined. “I swear it wasn’t my idea,” he complained. “I think…”

“You think?” Jake questioned, needing Sunghoon to either add something to that or clarify what he meant.

“I’m not entirely sure how we got there,” he admitted, slightly abashed. Jake stared at him for ten seconds in complete silence.

“I give up,” he turned as if to leave the apartment, but was easily stopped by Sunghoon pulling him by his arm.
