One by one, rumors spread throughout the entire countryside area of Busan about the sweets. It started circulating from mouth to mouth, "The spirit has come for the omega boy of the Jung household, bringing sweets with them."

Jung Hoseok was furious about such superstitions. Someone had sent sweets and was playing tricks, but the foolish people were spreading bizarre tales. Lisa kept Jungkook under strict observation. According to her, Jungkook must have done something wrong or is involved in some love affair. Otherwise, who would write like this? While others might briefly believe in such things, she, like her husband, did not believe in these strange occurrences. She cleared the room and began interrogating her son,

"Tell me, who sent the sweets? You're not messing around with some alpha, are you?"

Jungkook felt unjustly accused. His mother’s harsh treatment, without any wrongdoing, was unbearable. It felt deeply painful. A mother should be soft, her voice filled with affection. Why was his mother like this? Why must she act so harshly with her words? Why must she always be suspicious? With his eyes downcast, Jungkook replied in a detached tone,

"I don’t know, mom. I’m not involved in any of this."

Lisa was quite concerned about her son. Pointing a finger at him, she said,

"If you don’t know, then who does? Everyone is talking about you now. You’ve always been a bit clueless. Now that this has spread, how will I marry you off? What family would want to take you as their son-in-law?"

Jungkook was startled. Marry him off to another family? His feet would never step into any house other than his aunt's, the Kim's Haven, as long as he was alive. He was highly emotional, and being somewhat of a crybaby was part of his nature. It didn’t take long for tears to well up in his eyes. Lisa restrained herself from slapping him. This wasn’t the time to lose her temper. In a soft but firm voice, she asked,

"Are you telling the truth?"

Jungkook nodded in agreement. Lisa sighed in relief but still couldn't calm her mind. Ever since Jungkook had returned from Suzy's in-laws' house, Lisa had noticed a significant change in him. He wouldn’t eat properly, seemed depressed, lacked focus in everything, and appeared distant. All of this was undoubtedly alarming.

Jungkook have to just pass his entrance exam, she would keep a close watch on him until then. In the Busan, there was still a tradition of marrying omegas off quickly. As soon as an omega started their university, older men and women would gossip, "She/he’s too old now, that’s why not getting married."

Lisa could not tolerate any such insult toward her innocent baby son. The omegas of the Jung family had a certain reputation to uphold. She would send her son as a bride into a rich, reputable family.

Teenage love is a kind of madness. A wild, intoxicating scent fills the air. The mind soars like a seagull. Eyes and ears are always eager for a glimpse of the beloved, to hear even a little of their voice that resonates from their heart. In the medium-sized room, the curtains by the window flapped in the gentle morning breeze. An unknown rhythmic sound echoed in Jungkook’s mind. All his emotions seemed to be gathering in his chest, making it feel heavy. His mind was troubled. He had seen the writing on that piece of paper. At first, he had innocently thought it was from his Taehyungie hyung, and had been overjoyed. But after reading the words, his entire body felt like it was burning with nettles.

Taehyung’s previous notes didn't have the hand writing like this. So, who could have sent these? Why wasn’t it from Taehyung? He could’ve easily surprised him by claiming to make him his queen like this! Didn’t Taehyung know how dry his heart had become, like a desert?
