"Water."
"Yes."
"Well, what about–"
"Oh my god," you say, exasperated. "Stop acting like a mother hen. I'm crossing the sea, not going to war."
Zeke sends you an unimpressed look, making you roll your eyes. Yes, you were going to take part in what might be the most tense and dangerous conflict of the era, but it would be great if Zeke stopped acting like you hadn't gone over every detail multiple times this past week. Five times, to be exact.
"Maybe not now," he says. "But in the future there will be... conflict."
You gesture with your head that yes, you're aware that the goal of the plan is to incite it. Violence is not something you feel comfortable encouraging, or even witnessing, but your way home hangs on how well you use it as a tool.
Over the past year, you've had many opportunities to think about just how far you would be willing to go. Zeke was –is? Was– willing to sacrifice comrades, foes, himself, to achieve his goal. Eren all but killed four fifths of humanity to ensure his friends' freedom.
What are you prepared to do, if an occasion to kill or be killed rises to challenge you? Will the ends (home home home) justify the means?
