The Avengers reconvened in the conference room at Stark Tower. Peter was safe, but the atmosphere remained tense. Tony stood at the head of the table, his gaze fixed on the holographic screen displaying the faces of his old enemies. Names scrolled by—people from his past, the ones who had been hurt by Stark Industries before his Iron Man days.
Natasha was leaning against the wall, her arms crossed. “They were planning this for a while, Tony. This wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment thing.”
Bucky nodded in agreement. “They knew what they were doing—waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Peter’s the easiest way to get to you.”
Peter sat next to MJ, his body still aching from the abduction, but his mind sharp. “So what now? They’re still out there, right?”
Tony glanced at Peter, the protective instinct in him flaring up again. “Now, we find them. All of them.”
Steve stepped forward, his face grim. “But we have to be smart about this. Going after them head-on puts Peter at risk again.”
Tony’s jaw clenched. “I don’t care. They came after my kid. I’m not letting them get away with this.”
Steve held his gaze, knowing exactly how Tony felt but trying to be the voice of reason. “I get it, Tony. Believe me, I do. But we need to do this the right way.”
Natasha interjected, her voice calm but firm. “We’ll track them down quietly. No overt action until we know who’s pulling the strings. This is bigger than just a few disgruntled enemies.”
Sam, standing by the window, spoke up. “We’ve got the resources. S.H.I.E.L.D., old contacts, the works. We can start digging.”
Tony ran a hand through his hair, his mind racing. He knew Steve and Natasha were right, but the anger still simmered just below the surface. “Fine. But I’m not sitting this one out.”
Steve gave him a small nod. “We wouldn’t expect you to.”
As the Avengers continued to strategize, Peter sat quietly, watching the team in action. It was surreal, being at the center of something like this. He was used to fighting alongside them, but this time, it felt more personal. He wasn’t just Spider-Man; he was Tony’s son, and that changed everything.
Peter finally spoke up, his voice quiet but determined. “I want to help.”
All eyes turned to him. MJ gave him a look, knowing what was coming next, but Peter ignored her.
“I’m not just going to sit around while you guys deal with this. I can handle myself.”
Tony shook his head immediately. “No. Absolutely not.”
Peter opened his mouth to protest, but Tony cut him off. “You just got kidnapped, Peter. I’m not putting you in more danger.”
Peter clenched his fists, frustration bubbling up. “But I’m a part of this, too. You know I can help.”
Steve looked between the two, understanding both sides. “Tony, he’s right. Peter’s proven himself in the field more times than we can count. He can handle it.”
Tony looked like he wanted to argue, but he sighed, rubbing his temples. “Fine. But you follow orders, and you don’t do anything reckless.”
Peter nodded, relief washing over him. “Got it.”

Later that night, after the meeting ended, Tony sat alone in his workshop, the dim lights casting long shadows across the room. He had been going over the security footage from the warehouse, replaying the events in his mind. Each time he saw Peter tied up, the anger flared again.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y.,” Tony called out, his voice rough. “Give me everything we’ve got on those guys.”
“Already compiling the files, boss,” F.R.I.D.A.Y. responded. “But there’s something else you should see.”
Tony frowned. “What is it?”
A new file popped up on his screen—an encrypted message that had been intercepted just after they rescued Peter. Tony’s eyes narrowed as he read the contents. It wasn’t from the kidnappers directly, but from someone higher up. Someone who had orchestrated the whole thing.
The message was clear: This was just the beginning.
Tony’s blood ran cold as he stared at the screen. Whoever was behind this wasn’t done. They were planning something bigger, and Peter had only been the bait.
His mind raced, thinking about what this meant. Peter was safe for now, but the threat was far from over.
Without hesitation, Tony stood and began pulling up every file, every contact, every piece of intel he could find. He wasn’t going to let this slide. Whoever was responsible was about to find out just how dangerous it was to mess with his family.
---
The next morning, Peter found Tony still in the workshop, his eyes red from lack of sleep. Peter walked in quietly, unsure of what to say. He could tell Tony hadn’t slept, and the tension in the room was palpable.
“Dad,” Peter said softly, approaching the workbench. “You okay?”
Tony didn’t look up, his focus still on the holographic files in front of him. “I’m fine, kid. Just... going over some things.”
Peter sighed, stepping closer. “Look, I get that you’re mad. I’m mad, too. But we’re going to get through this, right?”
Tony finally looked at him, his face softer than it had been all night. “Yeah. We are.”
Peter sat down next to him, glancing at the screen. “So, what’s the plan?”
Tony leaned back in his chair, his mind already working through the details. “First, we track down who’s really behind this. Then... we make sure they never get close to you or anyone else ever again.”
Peter nodded, feeling the weight of the situation settle on his shoulders. He knew this wasn’t over, but with Tony and the Avengers at his side, he also knew they stood a chance.
---
Back upstairs, MJ and Morgan were sitting at the kitchen table, eating breakfast when Peter walked in. Morgan looked up, her face lighting up at the sight of him. “Are you gonna be okay, Peter?”
Peter smiled, ruffling her hair as he sat down next to her. “Yeah, Shark. I’m gonna be fine.”
MJ glanced at him, her expression serious. “And what about the people who did this? Are they... are they still out there?”
Peter’s face hardened for a moment, but he forced a smile. “Not for long.”
The rest of the day passed in a haze of preparation. Tony and the Avengers were working around the clock, gathering intel and preparing for the next move. And in the back of everyone’s mind, one thing was clear: this was far from over.
