The stand off hung in the air like a heavy cloud, filled with desperation and fear. Tony knelt there, clutching Peter’s hand, his heart racing as the kidnapper considered his options.

“Just tell me what you want,” Tony urged, his voice steady despite the chaos swirling around them. “You think I’m going to let my son die? You’re wrong. Whatever it is, I’ll give it to you.”

The kidnapper's eyes gleamed with malice. “Such noble intentions, Stark. But your willingness to sacrifice yourself doesn’t change the fact that you owe me. You’ve been a thorn in my side for far too long, and now, I finally have a way to take everything you love.”

Steve, still bound and desperate, shouted from across the room, “Tony! Don’t! They’re using you!”

But Tony couldn’t think of anything except the fear coursing through him at the thought of losing Peter. “I’ll give you whatever you want, just let him go. I’ll get you the technology, the money, the resources—everything you need.”

“Why would I believe you?” the kidnapper sneered, his gun still aimed at Peter’s head. “You’ve betrayed everyone who trusted you. Why would this time be any different?”

“Because I’ll do anything to keep my family safe!” Tony yelled, feeling the pressure building in his chest. “I’d rather die than see him hurt. You can have me; just let him go!”

Peter squeezed Tony’s hand, pain flashing in his eyes. “Dad… don’t say that… You don’t have to…”

“No, Peter,” Tony said firmly, gazing into his son’s eyes. “I will protect you, no matter the cost.”

“Enough!” the kidnapper snapped, his finger twitching on the trigger. “I’m done with this charade. I want the Stark tech, and I want it now!”

At that moment, Tony’s mind raced. He had to find a way to buy Peter some time while coming up with a plan. He glanced around, searching for anything that could turn the tides in their favor.

“F.R.I.D.A.Y.,” he whispered urgently, “I need a distraction. Something to draw their fire away from Peter.”

“Understood, Tony,” she replied. “Initiating protocol now.”

Suddenly, the lights in the room flickered and went out, plunging everyone into darkness. The guards stumbled, confused, and Tony seized the opportunity.

“Now, Peter! Get Steve and the kids to safety!” he shouted, pushing himself up. “I’ll hold them off!”

“Dad, no!” Peter protested, trying to rise but faltering.

“Go!” Tony insisted, his voice firm. “I’ll be right behind you. Just get them out of here!”

With the darkness providing a momentary advantage, Steve used the chaos to break free from his bonds. “Let’s go, MJ! We have to get the kids out!” he ordered, his instincts kicking in as he moved towards the door.

“I can’t just leave you!” Peter called out, desperation clear in his voice as he struggled against the pain.

“Peter, trust me! I’ll be there,” Tony urged, grabbing his son’s shoulders. “I need you to keep them safe. Get them out now!”

With a look of determination mixed with fear, Peter nodded. He forced himself to stand, though he swayed slightly. “Alright… let’s go,” he said, taking MJ’s hand and moving towards Morgan and Harley, who were still disoriented but coming around.

“Follow me!” Steve called, guiding them toward the exit.

As they reached the door, Tony turned back, focusing on the enemy in the darkness. He heard footsteps and shouting as the kidnappers regained their composure.
