It had been a busy week for the family, and everyone was feeling a bit stretched thin. Valerie was wrapping up some work in the home office, answering emails and keeping an eye on Victoria, who was playing nearby. Colby was managing the kids in the living room, joking around with Xavier and trying to keep everyone occupied.

Xander, however, seemed a bit off. He'd been quieter than usual, his energy noticeably lower. He shifted uncomfortably on the couch, and though Colby noticed, he chalked it up to Xander just being tired from all the activity that week. Lost in the bustle, Colby missed the early signs – the way Xander's hands trembled a bit, and his breathing became uneven.

Then, suddenly, Xander's eyes rolled back, and his body tensed. It took Colby a moment to realize what was happening, and when he did, his heart dropped. "Xander?" he called, reaching out to his son, but Xander's body had already gone rigid, his small frame trembling uncontrollably.

"Valerie!" Colby's voice carried through the house, and in seconds, Valerie was by his side, her face going pale as she took in the scene. She quickly pulled out her phone and dialed 911, her voice calm but trembling as she relayed the situation to the dispatcher. She knelt beside Xander, whispering comforting words even as her heart ached, trying to keep him grounded through the episode.

The seizure felt longer, more intense, as if it would never end. Finally, Xander's body began to relax, his breathing shallow but evening out. The paramedics arrived just moments later, gently lifting him onto a stretcher, and Valerie stayed by his side as they loaded him into the ambulance, with Colby quickly following behind in the car.

At the hospital, the doctors confirmed that this seizure had been more intense, likely triggered by the stress of the week and possibly an adjustment needed in his treatment. They assured Valerie and Colby that they would work to manage it, but they knew it wouldn't be easy. Valerie couldn't shake the guilt, replaying how she'd been so focused on work, and Colby's heart ached with the regret of missing the signs.

When Xander finally woke up, he looked tired but gave a small, sleepy smile when he saw his parents nearby. Colby held his hand, whispering an apology and promising he'd be more attentive, while Valerie stroked his hair, her eyes filled with love and relief. Though the experience had been harrowing, it deepened their bond, reminding Colby and Valerie just how vital it was to stay vigilant and present for Xander, no matter how busy life became.
