Peter tried to shake off the unease that clung to him throughout the rest of the school day. Despite Ned’s attempts to lighten the mood, laughter felt distant, and every playful nudge only heightened his tension.
After the second period, Peter’s heart sank when he found himself alone in the empty corridor, the echoes of his classmates' laughter fading into the distance. It was then that Mr. Voss emerged from the shadows, his expression inscrutable.
“Peter,” he called, his tone smooth yet commanding. “A moment of your time?”
Against his better judgment, Peter approached, a knot forming in his stomach. “What’s up, Mr. Voss?”
“I wanted to discuss your recent… performance,” Voss replied, a smirk creeping onto his face. “You’ve been unusually elusive, haven’t you? I wonder if there’s more to you than meets the eye.”
Peter’s pulse quickened. He could feel the weight of Mr. Voss’s gaze, sharp and probing. “I’m just a regular student. What’s the problem?”
Mr. Voss stepped closer, his voice low and conspiratorial. “I’ve heard rumors, Peter. About who you really are. I think you know what I’m talking about.”
Peter’s mind raced. He had to deflect the conversation, to keep Voss from discovering the truth. “I’m not sure what you mean—”
Before he could finish, Voss moved with startling speed, grabbing Peter by the collar and slamming him against the wall. “Cut the act! I’m onto you.”
Fear surged through Peter, but he maintained his composure. “Let me go, Mr. Voss!”
Voss leaned in closer, eyes glinting with malicious intent. “I need to know if you’re really Spider-Man. And I’ll find out one way or another.”
In a swift motion, Voss reached into his pocket, revealing a small, sleek device. Before Peter could react, a bright flash enveloped him, and everything went dark.

Meanwhile, in the cafeteria, MJ’s laughter faltered when she realized Peter had not returned after his meeting with Mr. Voss. “Where’s Peter?” she asked Ned, scanning the room.
“I thought he was with you,” Ned replied, frowning. “He should’ve been back by now.”
As the minutes ticked by, MJ’s concern deepened. “I’m going to check on him,” she said, her voice steady despite the worry gnawing at her insides.
MJ hurried through the halls, her heart racing. When she reached Mr. Voss’s classroom, she knocked, but there was no answer. Panic bubbled in her chest as she turned on her heel, rushing toward the teacher’s lounge where she knew Tony would be.
“Tony!” she exclaimed, bursting through the door. “It’s Peter! He’s missing!”
Tony’s eyes narrowed. “What do you mean missing? When was the last time you saw him?”
“Right after second period! He was talking to Mr. Voss, and now I can’t find him anywhere!”
Without hesitation, Tony activated his earpiece. “F.R.I.D.A.Y., locate Peter’s watch. He’s missing, and I need to know where he is.”
“Searching now, sir,” F.R.I.D.A.Y. replied, the calm, synthetic voice cutting through the tension in the room.
MJ could see the gears turning in Tony’s mind as he paced back and forth. “He could be in danger, especially with Voss. We need to act fast.”
“Do you think he’s involved with Hydra?” MJ asked, dread pooling in her stomach.
“I wouldn’t put it past them,” Tony said, determination hardening his features. “We’ll find him, I promise.”
