Early Thursday morning, when Araya was having breakfast with Becky, she received a call from Freen saying that she wasn't feeling well. Freen asked if someone could watch Becky for a day if she couldn't make it to the salon that morning."Who is it, Mommy?" Becky grew worried when she heard her mother ask the caller if she was going to see the doctor. "Is it P'Freen?"
Araya ignored her curious daughter and continued talking to Freen through the phone. "Cai ka. Don't worry about her na, I can ask her cousin to watch her but I can pick up Finn from school later if you want? He can stay with us so you can get a good rest."
That answered Becky's question, she walked to her mother's side at the breakfast table and wanted to took the phone from her mother. Araya continued to ignore her.
"Mai cai, of course not. He's not a burden on me, Freen, why would he be? Finn is my grandson. I want to, I insist na." Araya said on the phone.
Becky got impatient. "Let me talk to angel, Mommy! I want to talk to her."
"Okay, Freen. You should rest na, just tell me if something happens." Araya said and paused as Freen told her something on the phone.
"Cai, she's here, and she wants to talk to you." Araya said, as she handed the phone to her impatient daughter who immediately took it.
"P'Freen ka, are you okay?! Are you sick?! Have you seen the doctor?! Have you taken your medicine?!" Becky asked in a single breath. She heard the sound of Freen's voice laughing weakly on the other end of the line.
"Get some air, baby..." Freen said. "To answer your questions, I'm fine na. I just have a headache, I haven't seen the doctor because it's not that bad and cai ka, I've taken my medication." She heard Freen laugh.
"It's okay..." Becky sighed. "Go take a nice nap, kay? I'll be there later na?" She told Freen through the phone.
Her mother shot her a confused look.
She then heard Freen reply, "You don't have to do that, Bec. I can take care of myself, please don't come."
"Mai, mai, I want to."
She heard Freen sigh on the end of the line, too tired to discuss anything.
"Just listen to your Mommy na? I'll talk to you later, Bec."
Becky sighed and said goodbye to Freen and they hung up. Becky sighed in frustration because she thought Freen was angry at her for talking too much, for worrying too much.
Araya told her to stay home with Heidi and that she would not be going anywhere later as she told Freen on the phone.
"Freen is not feeling well and you should let her rest." She told Becky.
But Becky insisted that she wanted to go take care of Freen and their son when he got home from school, but Araya told her that Finn would go straight home after school and they would see each other tomorrow if Freen gets better.
Leaving breakfast unfinished, she ran up the stairs to her room, enraged. Once inside the room, she fell on her bed, tears falling down her cheek. She really wanted to take care of Freen, her angel. If Freen was sick, she wanted to be there for her.
But when her mother came into her room, she refused to talk and she crawled into the blanket on her bed. Her mother left after Heidi arrived, leaving her daughter sleeping, at least that was what she thought when she knocked on her daughter's room one last time before leaving for work. She knew that her daughter was planning an escape plan.
