You and Sky are standing outside your house, waiting for your roommate to answer as you peek at the porch window to see if he is even there as you had realized that you forgot to bring your keys with you, cursing under your breath once the discovery was made. An awkward but oddly welcome silence fills the air as the two of you stand by the door. The sun was setting over the valley, while the colorful buildings and blinding lights from downtown Funktown were visible from your porch. After getting lost in the sight of the town for what seemed like an eternity, you look around the porch to make sure what had happened in the last chapter was real. And it was, Sky was sitting on a little chair that is normally reserved for you when you can't sleep or wake up really late. As she sits there she looks like she had a lot of time to think, almost to the point where it resembles a sort of thousand-yard stare. What's wrong with her, was she hurt, I don't think so... this is something much deeper than physical pain, like she's been
left alone with her thoughts for a really long time...
Sky: Why me... why can't anyone love me, what's wrong with me?
She had whispered to herself, most likely accidentally thinking out loud, as she stared off into the distance slightly teared up. Oh no, not again, please... She sniffles a little bit and wipes her tears away, turns to you to see if you have seen her almost cry again, then frowns a bit and turns back to where her head had originally been placed upon seeing that you had. Yikes, I probably should have turned away.
Y/N: he's here, about damn time. *as you get up from leaning on the wall
Sky: who's here?
Y/N: He is my roommate, he probably has the keys to the house.
Sky: PROBABLY! What's gonna happen if he doesn't? *perking her head up
You shrug, such as to Sky's slight dismay, his car pulls into the driveway.
Y/N: He's always had this weird habit of parking his car so that it covers the entire driveway in a
half-horizontal half-vertical kind of way.
Sky: Isn't that inconsiderate tho?
Y/N not really, he's the only one in our house with a car.
It's never been a problem for you since you won't own a car, it's not like you do not have a license or anything, you just simply prefer to bike, walk, or take the bus to the places you wanna go. You chuckle a little bit before you continue...
Y/N: The even weirder thing about it is that he always changes the reason whenever you ask him why, "I don't want other people using our driveway as free parking", "It's easier to reverse park when there's more space to work with", or "it's funny watching people almost crash into a thing because they're too focused on trying to figure out why my cars like that"
Sky: uhhh...
Y/N: OR MAYBE ITS BECAUSE HE'S BAD AT DRIVING!
You yell mockingly to let your roommate know he's currently being exposed as a weirdo. He parks his car and steps out, taking off his sunglasses as if they are going to hinder the process of defending himself from the accusations, about to open his mouth to say something when he spots Sky sitting next to you. He is a big guy, about 6'5, as well as somewhat muscular. He's tanned and has stubbles on his face, which gives him that roughed-up soldier kind of look. This is reassured by the fact that he mostly wears green camo clothing except for his white t-shirt. From what you know he did some service, but not for a very long time. He continues to look over your shoulder to take a look at Sky, who is currently close behind you.
Sky: Is this guy gonna rob you? Do you owe money to some mafia boss or something? I SURRENDER!
Sky threw her hands into the air as she was being told that she was being detained by police or something.
Sky: Uhhh, mmhhh, please don't... hurt me? UGH! DAMN IT! THIS IS EMBARISING!
You couldn't help but laugh as Sky slowly began to realize there was no threat. Blushing profusely at the fact that she had made a fool out her herself, the thought had suddenly come to you that she was just crying in the middle of the rain not that long ago. Feeling like a huge jerk you quickly regain your composure. You turn to your roommate who is also laughing, make eye contact with him, and mouth to him
Y/N: SHUT THE HELL UP!
Sensing that you were dead serious he also quickly regains his composure. His face went from a light-hearted grin to a deep confusion. He stands still, unknowing of what to do.
Y/N: It's ok Sky, it's just my roommate, no need to worry.
Sky: I don't know what you're talking about, I wasn't worried, YOU ARE!
She said this as she brushed her long blue hair to the side, her cheeks puffy and red from the embarrassment she had experienced earlier, It was actually... kinda cute...
Damn it.
You saw that your roommate had taken notice of this, a devious grin slithering across his face. Looking up at the sky in regret, knowing that your roommate now knows something you didn't want him to know, something that you are not sure is even true, something you don't entirely understand. He is a good guy, he means well by what he does, even if he doesn't make the best choices. But he also likes getting involved in things that don't actually concern him, it's not the worst thing ever, but it's different this time since it's a special circumstance. You and your roommate stare each other down, having a fool conversation with just head signals and eye contact. Sky's now standing in between the two of you, confused as to what she's witnessing. At least she's not mad anymore... me and my big mouth. You and your big mouth indeed, because right as you thought that Sky suddenly snaps at you.
Sky: Y/N! WHEN ARE WE GONNA GO INSIDE IT'S LIKE 40 DEGREES RIGHT NOW!
That's weird, it's a summer night, with no breeze, in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, IT CAN'T GO UNDER 40 HERE EVEN IF IT TRIED! She probs just cold-sensitive or something, at least that's what you're telling yourself.
Y/N: Oops. sorry, let's go inside.
You got out of the way so that your roommate could go through and open the door with his set of house keys. The door opens while a little breeze brushes past the three of you. Revealing the inside of a dark and untidy house. Your roommate shivered as he continued into the house while you and Sky just stood out there, neither having a reason or rhyme. After a minute you decide it's too cold to take a thinking break outside, so you enter your house as Sky follows closely behind.

CREATOR COMMENTARY!
This chapter was kinda of short if I'm being honest with all of yall, but this is mostly to see if you guys like short chapters or longer ones. This chapter was not anything special, more kinda like a bridge between two events, and I'm trying to think of some clever things as well. BUT the best thing that could happen would be if you guys could help me out by giving me tips, ideas, or suggestions. Anything that I use from yall will result in me crediting you wherever I can.
but besides that, that's all, hope yall had a good read and an even better day :DDD
