(A/N: Takes place a little after Darkness Rising Part 2)
The loss of Cliffjumper significantly affected the Autobots, especially Arcee. However, the Autobots understood that their fallen comrade would not want them to dwell on his death. Therefore, they pressed on, and over time, they gained three human allies: Jack, Miko, and Rafael. But the Decepticons have returned, and Megatron has uncovered a new weapon during his time in space: Dark Energon. He plans to use it to resurrect an army of Cybertron's dead. After a failed rescue mission to find Cliffjumper, who somehow came back online, the Autobots conducted further research on Dark Energon. They discovered that it has several side effects, including corruption, an ambient weakening effect, and the ability to revive the dead. The Autobots find themselves in need of good fortune, and it seems that luck is on their side when Ratchet discovers an Autobot signal.
Ratchet: (Types on the console, then notices a signal) Hmm. (Types on the console again, then clarifies the signal) What? That's not possible.
Raf: What's wrong, Ratchet?
The other bots approach Ratchet as he speaks.
Ratchet: I found an Autobot signal here on Earth.
Jack: That's good, isn't it?
Ratchet: Normally, yes, but it's... airborne.
The Autobots didn't believe it.
Arcee: That's not possible. Autobots can't fly.
Miko: Why, the rest of you turn into cars or trucks. Who's to say one can't turn into a jet?
Ratchet: Because most if not all fliers were used by the military.
Raf: AKA Decepticons.
Optimus: Although most fliers are Decepticons, a few were Autobots.
But a sudden beep from the computer cut the bot's conversation short.
Optimus: Ratchet, what is it?
Ratchet: An energon pulse, but it does appear to be faint.
Bulkhead: We could always use more fuel.
Optimus: Indeed Bulkhead, Ratchet activate the groundbridge.
The Autobots stepped through the ground bridge and arrived at their destination. When they emerged, they found themselves out of sight of the Decepticons, giving them the element of surprise. Ratchet noted that the mining operation before them was smaller than the one they had encountered during their attempt to rescue Cliffjumper.
Bulkhead: (reads a scanner) Eh the signals weak like Ratchet said. The cons may have struck Energon, but I doubt they'd find much.
Optimus: Regardless, with the Decepticons having their hands on all of Earth's other deposits. Every ounce of energon that we can acquire is essential.
The bots all agreed and slowly advanced on the cons. As the Decepticons extracted the energon, they were startled by a warning shot.
Optimus: Decepticons, step away from the Energon and surrender!
However, the Decepticons did not comply. Instead, they opened fire. The Autobots sprang into action, with Arcee, Bumblebee, and Optimus unleashing a barrage of shots from their blasters. Bulkhead leaped into the air, using his maces to crush two Decepticons. Arcee fired a few more rounds before joining the fray and engaging the enemy with her blades. After taking down several more Decepticons, Optimus finished off the last one while the others moved towards the carts that the Decepticons had been guarding.
