Tivra sat in the Quicksand in Ul'dah, poring over the pages of a novel. She had arrived here not long ago in search of fellow adventurers to join with, but so far she had found no one she had been interesting in teaming with. Most of the adventurers here were either too loud, too drunk, or a mixture of the two. The blue-skinned au ra was beginning to think she should have gone to Gridania or Limsa Lominsa instead.

Not long later, the doors to the quicksand slammed open and an irate, blonde-haired viera stomped in, making a beeline to the nearest table. She was followed by two other exhausted adventurers, a pink-haired miqo'te and a firey-haired au ra. Tivra glanced up from her book, watching the trio as they slumped into their seats.

"Well, that was a damned nightmare!" Meyu huffed. "Whose bright idea was it to explore Cutter's Cry, anyway?"

"Yours," Y'sila and Kaede replied simultaneously.

Meyu scoffed, crossing her arms. "It was my idea to check out the first part of it. You two louts just had to insist on going deeper into it! We had to deal with that stupid chimera and we don't have a single gil to show for it!"

"You were perfectly fine following us," Kaede scowled, glaring at the viera. "You probably wouldn't have been squashed into bunny putty by that golem if you hadn't been so distracted by the thought of coin!"

Meyu's hand went to her chest, her face a mask of offense. "How dare you! You're not one to talk! You wouldn't have been frozen into a lizard popsicle if you hadn't blindly run to fight that chimera!"

"Alright, let's stop fighting, please!" Y'sila said, trying to diffuse the situation. "Arguing and insulting each other about what happened isn't going to change anything. We just need to move on and forget about this failed adventure, okay?"

Meyu shook her head, glancing away. "Hmph. Fine..."

Kaede crossed her arms, her scowling unfading. "Yeah. Okay."

Y'sila sighed, rubbing her temples. "As much as I hate to admit it, going on these grand adventures with just the three of us isn't sustainable. It was fine when we were just doing small jobs here and there, but now that we're getting into more dangerous territory, we need a fourth member of our team. We need a proper healer."

Tivra perked up at the miqo'te's words. She put her book down and leaned forward, continuing to eavesdrop on the trio's conversation.

"We've tried looking for a healer before, Y's," Kaede replied. "All the ones we found were either still in training or already a part of other adventuring groups."

"Besides," Meyu continued, "Another member of our group means more ways we have to split the treasure we find. I, for one, am not keen on divvying up our earnings more than we already have to."

"Of course you're not..." Kaede muttered, rolling her eyes. Meyu scowled, looking like she was about to leap across the table and wring Kaede's neck.

"Let's just...consider it, okay?" Y'sila said, once again trying to keep the pair from murdering each other. "Maybe we should go back to taking smaller, less dangerous jobs again until we can find someone."

Kaede and Meyu both cringed, both having their own reasons for not wanting to give up going on more exciting adventures.

Meanwhile, Tivra took a deep breath. It seemed she finally found the chance she was looking for. She stood from the table, steadied herself, and walked over to the trio's table.

"Excuse me," Tivra said. The three adventurers looked to the blue-skinned au ra with interest. "Sorry, but I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. You mentioned that you were searching for a healer?"
