Hitori and Bakugo did pushups until their arms were ready to fall off. They were competing for who could do the most. But much to Hitori's annoyance, Bakugo won. But barely. She dropped after a hundred and fifty-two, while he kept going to a hundred and fifty-seven. He went for one more, but couldn't push himself back up and ended up faceplanting.
"Ha!" He said breathlessly. "I win, loser!"
"Yeah, whatever," Hitori groaned. "I set a new personal record."
"Me too. You're insane," Bakugo said. He sat up and rested his arms on his knees.
"So are you," Hitori grinned. She was still lying on her stomach, so she propped herself on her elbows and smiled. Her ponytail fell over her shoulder.
Bakugo looked at her hair, then quickly looked away.
"What?" Hitori asked.
"You've never worn your hair up before," he said quietly.
"Oh, do you not like it? I can take it down—"
"No! That's not...uh...not what I'm saying..." Bakugo rubbed the back of his neck. "I like it."
Butterflies fluttered in Hitori's stomach and she smiled. "Really?"
"Yeah. Why'd you put it up?"
"I dunno, I just felt like it I guess," Hitori shrugged.
Bakugo's face turned pink. "I-It's cute."
Hitori's eyes widened and she blushed. "Thank you."
He pushed himself to his feet and turned away. "Get up, loser, I wanna spar."
"Okay," Hitori laughed. She got up and gave him a light push. "Just don't get mad when I win again."
"I'm gonna kick your ass!"
"Like you always do?"
"You're asking for it!"
"Then bring it!"
Bakugo turned and swung his foot at her. Hitori ducked under it and tried to sweep his legs out from under him but he jumped over it. He tried to hit her again but she dodged. They continued back and forth for a while until Hitori finally landed a punch.
But he didn't have the reaction she expected. He stopped and glared at her.
"That was weak," Bakugo frowned.
"What are you talking about?"
"Your right punch. It was weak." Bakugo held up his hand. "Hit me."
Hitori punched his hand and glared at him.
"Now use your left."
She punched with her left.
"Now you're right."
"What's the point of this, Katsuki?" Hitori asked, annoyed. Her wrist was starting to hurt more. The pushups had aggravated it.
"Just hit me, already!"
Hitori punched his hand again. "There, happy?"
"No."
Bakugo narrowed his eyes and grabbed her right wrist before she could lower her fist. Hitori winced and tried to yank it away but he didn't let go.
"What's wrong with your wrist?" He demanded. "You're pulling your punches 'cause you're in pain. Why?"
Hitori's nose twitched in annoyance. "I think I broke it."
"And you've still been using it?!"
"Yeah, it's not like I can do anything about it until I get back to school anyway." Hitori rolled her eyes. "I'm fine, it's just a little pain."
