The water ran over the last plate, as I washed the dishes from the breakfast feast. Braidyn leaned against the bar counter and sighed. I put the last plate in the dishwasher and set it to dry. Wiping down the rest of the kitchen, I sat down at the table and sighed in great relief. Braidyn slowly walked over and sat down as well. Lo, was finishing up a text as she gently placed her phone down and sat back in her seat.
"What?" Braidyn said trying to adjust in her seat.
Lo, shook her head and pulled her hoodie up and over, shadowing her face. I frowned and stared at her, trying to read her emotions.
"Lo?" I asked with concern in my voice. She looked up at me, her dark brown eyes fixed on my face. "You can talk to us, we don't judge." She smirked at my comment.
She took a deep breathe and sighed. "I think im pregnant," she paused, thinking for a second. "and the father of the child is a complete jack ass. But sadly, " she paused again and swallowed hard. "I want this to work for the child's life."
We stared at her with amazed expressions. I pulled my leg up and rested my chin on my knee, her phone vibrated and she slid it open. I looked at Braidyn who was staring at me, taken by her expression, I frowned. She slowly looked at Lo with shock written on her face. Lo, laid the phone back on the table, while a loud calling tone sung out to us.
The other line picked up and a wrestling sound came over the speaker. Me and Braidyn leaned in as if waiting for something amazing to happen with the phone. Lo gently put her index finger up to her mouth, warning us to be silent.
"Hello, hello, Lo?" The voice on the other line was deep and southern, proper, but with that southern twang to it.
"Yeah, im here." Her raspy voice called out.
"So, what the hell is this about you MIGHT be pregnant?" He said quickly. "Cause this shit can't be mine."
"Shit?" Lo, said quickly. "If I am pregnant my baby will never be shit." She said calm but firm. He sighed over the phone.
"Oh my god, I just can't take this. Everytime we fight you try and put shit into my mind to make me stay with you. Seriously, what do you want me to do? If you want a kid there are plenty of guys who will give you their sperm so you can have one. Cause to be honest Lo, I am not ready for this shit right now. I have to much on my plate to be dealing with this bullshit."
Lo stared at us with tears in her eyes, but with a soft smile on her face. She looked down at the phone and spun it around numorous times.
"Hello?" The male called out with irritation.
"Yeah, im here." Lo said quietly.
"Sooo, are we done?"
Tears began to fall from Lo's eyes, she rested her cheek in her hand. She shook her head slowly as she wiped away the tears.
"Yeah, we are done. This will be the last time we talk-"
"Good," he said cutting her off. "I really don't need this shit." Lo frowned and more tears continued to fall.
"Bye Fraiser.." She said softly and ended the call. Braidyn slowly got up and took Lo's side. Lo put her head down on her arms and began to softly cry. Braidyn rubbed her back and stared at me, as if asking what to do. I shrugged gently and looked back at Lo. My heart began to sank as if I felt Lo's every emotion. She looked up eyes red and puffy, she stared at me, with a small smirk.
