Neil held Aditi's hands gently, his gaze steady as he looked at Suhasini.
"Don't worry, ma'am," he said softly but with conviction, "your daughter is brave and happy. I promise I'll do everything I can to keep that happiness alive in her life."
Suhasini's eyes softened, and she nodded, her smile filled with pride and relief.
She placed her hand on Neil's head in a gesture of blessing, then reached down to remove her gold bangles.
Turning to Aditi, she offered them with trembling hands. Aditi looked at her, surprised.
"Mummy, yeh..."
Suhasini interrupted with a tender smile, "These were your nani's. Wear them as her and my blessing. Put them on when you feel ready to start a new life."
Aditi nodded, tears gathering in her eyes, and she hugged her mother tightly.
Dinesh, watching the scene with a clenched jaw, couldn't ignore the pang of anger and pride stirring within him.
To see Neil and Aditi together felt like a blow to his honor.
As Neil and Aditi turned to leave, Dinesh's voice rang out, rough and filled with bitterness. "Do you even know, boy, that the girl you're holding hands with left her first husband behind? She walked away, and she'll walk away from you too. She's nothing but shame and disgrace."
Neil turned, his jaw tightening as he faced Dinesh.
"Mr. Mishra," he said with cold determination, "your daughter didn't leave a husband-she left an animal. And calling that man an animal would insult animals everywhere."
Dinesh's face fell, shocked at Neil's harsh words, but his pride wouldn't let him back down.
"This girl," he sneered, "will only bring you disgrace. If she left one man, she'll leave another. You come from a good family-find someone decent, not this shameless, stubborn girl."
Neil's face hardened as he looked directly at Dinesh, who stood there, radiating contempt and pride.
There was a flicker of anger in Neil's eyes as he began, his voice cold and measured.
"Your beloved ex-son-in-law? He's rotting in jail, and he barely made it there alive" he said, pausing as the words registered in Dinesh's mind. "Lekin usse jail bhejne se pehle uski achi khatirdari ki gayi thi."
Neil's lips curled slightly, a glint of satisfaction evident. "Mujhe toh yeh mauka nahi mila, lekin uss kutte ko iss hadh tak maara gaya ki bechara marne ki bheekh maang raha tha."
Dinesh's face twitched, his composure faltering just a bit.
But Neil wasn't done. "Aur yeh sab kisne kiya, jaante hain?"
He leaned forward, voice low and dangerous. "Shantanu Rajyavadkar, mere bade bhai ne. Kyunki uss Nitin ne meri bhabhi pe buri nazar daali thi aur unhe chot pahunchai thi."
As he spoke, Dinesh felt a chill run through him, and his confidence visibly wavered.
He knew all too well of Shantanu Rajyavadkar's fearsome reputation.
Shantanu was known for his ruthless business acumen, and people across industries feared him.
When it came to protecting his family, he was merciless, capable of destroying anyone who dared to harm those he loved.
"Nitin ne jo kiya, uska natija usne bhugat liya," Neil continued, his voice as sharp as steel.
Dinesh stood frozen, swallowing hard as Neil's words settled in.
