AERI'S POV

I woke up brutally , finally being free of this nightmare.

In my nightmare , Minji was still alive, smiling at me and laughing with me but at the end she ended up dying..stirring the knife in the wound

I cried again and again not wanting to go to school , I tried to act sick but my mom still forced me to go to school.

I was at the back of the bus my headphones plugged into my ears listening to "Ditto" by New Jeans, one of my comfort songs

Usually , no one sit next to me because i looked scary , but i was surprised when i saw someone sitting next to me , and was even more surprised when i saw the boy from yesterday , Ni-ki

For the first time , i spoke in first to someone

: H..Hey Ni-ki..

He turned his head to me , his nonchalant face from yesterday not changed at all

Ni-ki : Hey. He simply said

I was kind of disappointed , I wanted to talk to him , to know more about him, so I decided to speak again , which was a miracle

: Wanna share headphones..? I asked shyly

Ni-ki : Hmm yeah why not

I landed him my headphones and we listened music together until we come at school.

When we entered the classroom I noticed that we were actually in the same class but we never go to see each other because when I skipped school he came here and when he skipped school I was in class.

The teach sent us to the principal's office because he needed to talk to us

Principal : You two are skipping school way too much , you will fail your year at this rate. You are put together for a catch-up project for your grades, it's not very hard you will have to write an essay about a very famous poet

Ni-ki looked at me with annoyance while i was silently happy because that meant we will spend more time together

When we got out of the principal's office Ni-ki was the first one to talk

Ni-ki : You can come to my house at 5 p.m , we will start our project.

: Y..yes , sure. I slightly smiled

Ni-ki : You should smile more , you're pretty when you smile

: T..thank you. That's the first time someone say this , i usually get called scary haha..

He raised an eyebrow

Ni-ki : Then they must be blind because you have the prettiest smile i've ever seen..oop- He putted his hand over his mouth when he saw her blushing then he chuckled

Ni-ki : Wanna be friends ? You look like you don't have any

: F..Friends ? I looked up , my eyes lighting up in joy.
It was my first time having a friend , I never experienced this kind of feeling, it means I would finally have someone who care for me , someone with who I could actually laugh , someone who will maybe listen to my problems.. Sure ! We can be friends ! You're my first friend !

He seemed surprised for a second then smiled warmly for the first time since the start , I almost felt my heart skipping a beat at this sight.

Ni-ki : You're my first friend too , Ae-ri.

But who knows that this meeting would change the rest of his life...?
