"The time has come for you to reveal yourself" A deep, old voice said to the teen in front of him.
"Are you sure Grandfather?" The teen asked with a hint of expectation in his voice.
"The Wizengamot meeting will be held later this week. You're appearance now should give enough time for information to spread. Besides I think you're ready for it." The old man spoke.
"And it'll be good for you to socialize with people that aren't just us and Sable." A woman's voice spoke from the teens left. The woman looked graceful with dark hair and emerald green eyes. She was not young but her beauty had not diminished in the slightest.
The teen knew they were right. The portraits were the only family he had left but at the end of the day they were just portraits. Although they were a lot more impressive then even the portraits found at Hogwarts. They held the last remnants of Salazar Slytherin and his great granddaughter Isolde.
To think the Slytherin family had been reduced down to just one living member... It was disgraceful. But that would be fixed with time.
"Sable" the teen spoke with a commanding tone
*POP*
A 3 foot tall creature suddenly appeared in front of him. A house elf. One that had been serving him for as long as he could remember.
"I'll be heading out soon. Prepare my clothes. I'll need to make a good impression."
With a nod the house elf popped back out.
"Before you leave Caius we still have your daily training to complete" Salazar said
"Of course. Wouldn't miss it for the world" Caius said while giving the portrait a slight smirk.
"We'll since you seem so eager we can have an extra hour of combat training after your class with Isolde" Salazar quipped back.
Caius sighed. He wondered if the two portraits sometimes confused him with a house elf with how much they worked him. He knew why though. He had to be prepared.
His classes started off with a lesson on Wizarding culture, politics and law. Both Salazar and Isolde had told him everything he needed to know to be able to properly take his place in the Wizengamot as well as interact with others in positions of power.
"As you know the current Wizengamot is loosely divided into the 'light', 'grey' and 'dark'. Now... who are the unofficial leaders of these political blocks and what do they represent?"
A question Caius knew and had heard many times before. Still Caius knew it was important to know so he answered.
"The leader of the light is Dumbledore. They tend to strive for lessening old customs and integrating our culture with the muggle kind. They also tend to be somewhat pacifistic due to Dumbledores own views."
Salazar and Isolde simply nodded and waited for him to continue.
"The Dark is lead by Lucius Malfoy. They strive for giving less rights to muggles, creatures and those that are not pureblooded. They place great value on tradition and blood. Most in this political block also followed Voldemort. Either officially or unofficially."
"And how is it that Lucius Malfoy, a man who comes from a family which does not trace it's roots back to the sacred twenty eight, is in control of this faction which places such value on blood and origin?" Isolde questioned as soon as Caius was done speaking.
"Two reasons. Voldemort and money. He was an inner circle servant of Voldemort which gets him respect with most in the Dark. His pockets are also quite deep, allowing him to bribe both the minister and some in his faction to follow him."
