"Oh!  Some kid left this for you on the porch." Mel signals to a newspaper-wrapped package.

Norman grabbed the package and gave it to his cousin. Coraline grabbed the note attached to the package and read it. She huffed and ripped the newspaper to reveal what the package was.

It was a doll, one that looked just like Coraline. Norman looked at the doll and then at Coraline. "Looks like you"

Coraline nodded and whispered "it's a bit unsettling too" Coraline then gave the doll to  Norman, after crumbling the note.

"What's his name anyways?" Mel asked, still working. Norman answered "Wybie, we met him a few minutes ago" Coraline sighed and looked at the doll "I'm too old for dolls" she walked away, and Norman followed behind her.

"Dad, how is the writing going? Dad" She was going to call out for him again but Norman stopped her. "Maybe we should leave, and explore the house. We can find the best hiding places or the best escape route for when we want to sneak out!" Norman whispered excitedly.

Coraline thought for a moment but shrugged and nodded.

They started exploring the place, and sometimes moved things around from their original places. That is until Norman noticed that the mini Coraline disappeared. "Umm Coraline!"

She stopped what she was doing and looked at him. "Yeah?"

"I lost you" Norman said in a blank face. Coraline just rolled her eyes and smiled. "Then we should start looking for me, shouldn't we?" Norman laughed slightly and nodded, they started to look around.

That is until Coraline found the doll half hidden. She grabbed the doll and noticed two things.

One, a door, a tiny little door on the wall. The second thing was another doll, but instead looked like Norman. "Hey, Norman!"

He quickly turned around and gasped slightly. "Mini me?" He chuckled and took the doll and looked inspected it.

"Now we have matching dolls, well, kinda" Coraline shrugged and looked at the door again. "Should we open it?" She looked at Norman.

Norman frowned and looked at the tiny door. "I don't think it's a good idea..." He looked away.

"Please Norm! And I will let you sleep on the bed!" Norman sighed and shook his head. "You liar, you always say that" Looks at the tiny door. "Ok, maybe we should, I want to know what is in there"

Coraline smiled wider and tried to open the door but it didn't have a handle.

"We can ask aunt Mel to open it?" Norman suggested. Coraline nodded and looked at the kitchen and yelled "Mom! There is a tiny door on the wall!"

She didn't answer so Coraline yelled again "can you unlock it? Pleeeeeeeeeeas!"

Her mom got up and walked over to Norman and Coraline. "Will you" points at Coraline. "Stop pestering me if I do this?" Coraline nodded quickly. Mel sighed and looked at Norman who was quietly fidgeting with the mini him. Coraline cleared her throat and Norman looked at her. Norman sighed and looked at his aunt.

"I can help around the house with the chores?" Mel looked at him and sighed. "Take care of Coraline and it's a deal" Norman nodded and Mel went to the kitchen.

Coraline looked at Norman annoyed. "Take care of me?" Norman shrugged and looked at the doll in his hands "I won't stop you from sneaking out though"

Coraline nodded and looked at her doll. "Duh, we are both sneaking out, I won't go without you"

Norman nodded and looked at aunt Mel returning from the kitchen, with a black key. She then unlocked the tiny door.

There was a wall on the other side of the door. Coraline just sighed in disappointment while Norman looked at Mel leave to the kitchen.

"... wanna play with the dolls?" Coraline looked at Norman then at her doll. "Sure, but only if my doll gets to kill your doll"

"Deal!"

Coraline looked at her plate with 'food' with disgust. Norman looked at the plate and looked at Charlie, the creator of the monstrosity.

"Why don't you ever cook, mom?" Coraline said annoyed.

"We already talked about this Coraline. I clean, your father cooks and you two stay out of the way." Coraline looked away annoyed.

"Are they trying to poison us?" Coraline asked her cousin and he made the doll, his mini him, nod.

"Where did you find the doll, Norman?" Charlie asked, noticing the doll. "Umm, I found it while looking around the house."

"Which reminds me! I should help Norman do the bed he is sleeping on!" Before anyone could say anything, Coraline took Norman's hand and went to their room.

In the room, Norman looked at his makeshift bed and shrugged. "Slept in worse" he then laid down and got ready to sleep when Coraline interrupted him.

"Norman, don't you miss your friends from your hometown?" Norman paused for a second then sighed. "Sometimes, but it's ok, at least I am not alone." He closed his eyes, ready to sleep. "Good night Coraline"

Coraline turned off the light and yawned a 'night'

At night, Norman woke up by a sound. He sat up and a rat jumped out of the room. He turned around and Coraline was awake and she had gotten off the bed and followed the rat.

Norman groaned and followed Coraline. They opened the tiny door and they were both amazed. Coraline looked at Norman and Norman looked at her. They nodded and Coraline went first, then Norman.

When they reached the other side, they were confused. "How did we get back here?" Coraline asked, confused. Norman shrugged and looked around.

They noticed that the painting was different. Suddenly they heard a noise from the kitchen. They entered the kitchen and they were surprised. "Mom?" Coraline asked, while Norman whispered in confusion "Aunt Mel?"

That was until she turned around. It wasn't her.

"You are just in time for supper, kids!"
