The afternoon sunlight streamed through the window of Megumi's room, casting a warm glow over the piles of textbooks and notes spread across his bed. For weeks now, they had been spending almost every day together—studying, doing homework, and enjoying each other's company. Their relationship had blossomed since they started dating in mid-October, and now, as they approached Saori's birthday, almost reaching their one month mark, she found herself reflecting on the deepening connection they shared.
Saori sat cross-legged beside Megumi, her hair spilling over her shoulder as she concentrated on the math problems in front of her. Megumi leaned close, his shoulder brushing against hers, sending a spark of warmth through her. She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, her heart fluttering. We've been close for so long, she thought. Maybe it's time to take that next step.
"Okay, so if you distribute the variables here, what do you get?" he asked, his voice low and focused.
Saori tilted her head, trying to focus on the math but feeling her heart race at their proximity. "Um, it's..." She paused, feeling the tension building as their eyes locked. The air between them shifted, thick with unspoken words and feelings that had grown over their time together.
Megumi moved closer, brushing his lips against hers in a soft, tentative kiss. It was sweet and innocent, filled with all the unacknowledged desire they had shared over the past weeks. Saori felt a rush of emotions, warmth spreading through her. But as their lips met, she pulled back, her breath catching in her throat. "Sorry," she whispered, biting her lip to suppress a smile. "I got distracted."
Megumi chuckled softly, a hint of pink coloring his cheeks. "Yeah, me too. We should probably focus on homework." He picked up his pencil again, but the charged atmosphere lingered, making it hard to concentrate.
A few moments passed in silence, tension hanging palpably in the air. Saori glanced at him, and when their eyes met again, it felt like an electric jolt. Maybe I should just tell him how I feel, she thought. But the words stuck in her throat, fear and excitement swirling together.
"Let's take a break," she suggested, her voice barely above a whisper, her heart pounding.
"Good idea," he agreed, leaning back against the headboard. As they both shifted, Megumi pulled Saori onto him, her legs straddling his lap. She felt a thrill of exhilaration mixed with nervousness.
Their lips met again, the kiss deepening as they surrendered to the moment. Saori's fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer as Megumi's hands explored the curves of her waist, slipping underneath her shirt. Each kiss sent shivers through her, igniting a fire she hadn't anticipated.
Just as the heat between them reached a fever pitch, the moment was shattered by a firm knock on the door.
"Megumi! Dinner's ready!" Tsumiki called from the other side, her voice breaking the spell and reminding them of the world outside.
Saori froze, her eyes wide as she quickly pulled back. Megumi's expression mirrored her shock, disappointment flickering across his face.
"Uh, we'll be right there!" he replied, attempting to sound casual, but his voice came out strained. Saori could see the conflict in his eyes—the desire clashing with the reality of their situation.
Saori couldn't help but giggle nervously, her cheeks flushed. "So much for studying," she said, trying to lighten the mood despite the lingering tension.
Megumi chuckled softly, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "Guess we're just too distracting for each other." He looked at her, a playful smirk tugging at his lips. "Maybe we should stick to group studies next time."
