"Holy shit that boy is going to drive me crazy!" A voice echoed through the ruined house, waking the whole family.

Xiao Zhan buried his head in his pillow and groaned, already knowing that his mother was targeting him, as always. It was never his siblings she was ganging up on, it was always him! And let me tell you why: he was gay. It was as simple as that. Xiao Zhan's mother needed no more reason than that to hate her own son.

Suddenly, the door to Xiao Zhan's room swung open and the woman came towards his bed, visibly annoyed. There, she pulled back the thin blanket that was covering her son and grabbed him by the nape of the neck to pull him up and onto his feet. Needless to say, Xiao Zhan winced, his old wounds still healing and stinging a little from his mother's abrupt gesture.

"Fetch me some water from the well. Right now! I need it to shower!" She exclaimed, looking into her son's eyes before releasing him and exiting the room.

Now alone, Xiao Zhan took the opportunity to sigh softly. He was used to this, his mother waking him up early in the morning to make him go to the well on his own. He had brothers and sisters, yes, but his mother only attacked him. Just because he liked guys. Wasn't that crazy?

Indeed, despite being only seventeen, Xiao Zhan already knew who he liked: Men. It was simple but not for society which didn't think it was normal for there to be love between two men or two women. But honestly Xiao Zhan didn't care, as long as he was happy that was the main thing for him.

He quickly got up from his bed and looked at his clothes with a pout on his face. He'd been wearing the same clothes for a few days now, but today he wanted to pull out the clothes he'd been saving for today... Yes, today, because he was going to see someone special. Very special in his heart.

With a big and warming smile on his lips, Xiao Zhan dressed in his overalls and clean t-shirt. He looked really cute to be honest. But unfortunately, he didn't have any accessories to wear - because he didn't have enough money to buy them - so he quickly went to the bathroom to rinse his face and brush his teeth with the water he was saving for himself. Once done, he headed into the living room and grabbed two buckets he would use to bring water to his mother.

Speaking of her, she gave Xiao Zhan a nasty look, examining his outfit from top to bottom before saying aloud, "Are you going to go whoring in front of men or get me some water?"

Xiao Zhan ignored her words even though deep down it hurt. He was used to it anyway, so it didn't matter anymore.

Without wasting any more time, he went outside and was immediately struck by the sunlight illuminating the small village where he lived. The birds were singing in unison, and it was in this atmosphere that Xiao Zhan joyfully headed for the village well where water was sacred.

When he arrived, there weren't many people around – much to his delight – and he managed to fill his two buckets without any problem. Well, the problem was going to get back home which was going to be tiring for him! But being used to it, Xiao Zhan didn't complain too much and started his way home.

But as he walked down a small street where there weren't many people, a hand quickly slipped to his waist and lips came to rest on his. Xiao Zhan's eyes widened but he quickly closed them, savoring the moment as he knew who this person was...

Yes indeed, it was his boyfriend. Wang Yibo, a biker who was often mistaken for a gangster.

Because yes, in the 70s, if you rode a motorcycle and wore a leather jacket that automatically made you a gangster. But Xiao Zhan wasn't going to complain: the fact that his boyfriend was rumored to be a gangster made him sexier. Well, don't even ask why, it was just Xiao Zhan thinking like that.
