**Prologue**
Siddharth Kapoor was used to getting what he wanted. A ruthless businessman, he had climbed to the top of the corporate ladder, leaving nothing but his competitors’ shattered dreams in his wake. He established his own company without getting help from his father who is also a business tycoon. But there was one thing, he didn't get that is his father's business which he should inherit but their was obstacle and that was His Father .
The elder Kapoor, a man of unshakable principles, had always made it clear that Siddharth would inherit the family legacy only on one condition—he had to marry a woman of his father’s choosing. A woman who could provide the stability his empire needed, a woman who could ensure the Kapoor name lived on.
And so, he found himself standing at the crossroads of his ambition and his desires.
Tara Gupta. A name that meant nothing to him, a woman he had never met, yet one who had been chosen by his father as the key to his inheritance. For years, Siddharth had been obsessed with gaining control of his father’s business. But now, the path to his father’s wealth was not through skill or cunning—it was through love. Or at least, the illusion of it.
With no real feelings for her, Siddharth set his sights on Tara, determined to make her his wife and unlock the Kapoor legacy. To her, he promised affection, devotion, and a love she had ever wanted . But the truth was darker. His love was nothing but a carefully constructed lie, built upon a need far more desperate than romance.
Tara, fiercely independent and unyielding, wanted nothing to do with a man she didn’t love. But Siddharth knew how to manipulate, how to twist her emotions to fit his agenda. He played on her vulnerabilities, telling her he needed the house his mother had left him—the one thing his father refused to grant unless he married the woman he chose.
A promise. A lie. A manipulation so finely crafted that Tara couldn’t help but fall for it, even if her heart told her to resist.
But the deeper Siddharth dove into the charade, the more tangled in his own web he became. What began as a strategic move to secure his future soon turned into something else—something he had not anticipated. He began to feel for Tara in ways he never thought possible.
The lines between truth and deception blurred as he found himself yearning for the woman he had once only seen as a means to an end.
But Tara wasn’t blind. She began to see through his mask, to recognize the man who had lied to her from the start. Her heart, bruised by his manipulation, shattered under the weight of his betrayal.
And so, she left him.
For the first time in his life, Siddharth Kapoor was powerless. The empire he had fought so hard to control was nothing compared to the woman he had lost.
But Siddharth was no stranger to playing the game. He would grovel, he would beg—he would manipulate her again if he had to. Tara might have walked away once, but he would make her see that he was the only man who could give her everything she had ever dreamed of.
Even if that meant lying once again.
