I was once a girl who talked too much,
Always stood for my rights,
Never letting anyone misunderstand me,
Never hiding my feelings beneath the surface. But now, as I look at myself in the mirror,
It’s empty, a reflection of change.
I stay quiet almost all the time,
No longer caring if people misjudge me,
I don’t stand up to clarify the misunderstandings,
I simply let it be—
I’m too tired. But tired of what?I’ve changed completely,
No longer sharing my feelings with a single soul.
I’ve reached a point where I allow others to misinterpret me,
Wanting to tell them I’m not who they think I am,
Yet the words never come out,
They get stuck inside,
Swallowed down, never to see the light. What changed me?
Why am I doing this to myself?
I wonder what happened to the girl I used to be,
And why I let myself become this shadow,
Quiet and withdrawn,
Lost in the silence I’ve created.
