Chapter 4: Strangers

Ella's POV

We were sitting around the little campfire Leo had made us. We were all having a great time laughing and being loud teenagers. Nico and I knew if there were any roamers near as we could feel them if they were in a mile radius and at the moment we could feel nothing. What we all heard was the snap of a twig. People. We all got up and made our way around the house with our weapons in our hands at this point. I could hear small cracks as their feet stepped on dry leaves. 

" They are trying to get away lets stop them so we can ask them questions. Cato I know you have been here a year already but you have never had to do this and we have only trained for it but its fine we will get out of this. Lets go." I whisper to the demigods and Cato.

We jump out at them and they stop. I immediately feel bad it's two little girls and a baby but there are two adults who are not the parents from their age. I see them all visibly relax most likely from our age. I give the signal and we all put our swords and daggers to their throats. We all look to Piper and wait as she orders them the demand.

" Go to sleep now your safe here for now." Piper says her voice full of Charmspeak. It's a wonder how none of us have fallen for it. 

I hear four thumps and see the older lady and the girls asleep I grab the baby from the man as he falls. Wait why were their four thumps if the man had not fallen yet. I look around to see everyone staring at Leo out cold on the ground.

" Piper did you intentionally make Leo fall asleep too?" I ask raising my eyebrows. She just nods and goes to pick up one of the little girls she takes her in and puts her on the couch. 

" Great." I mutter. " Well you guys check them." Nico checks them and comes up with a few knifes and a few guns. I pull out my wand" Okay great Wingardium Leviosa." I say the man woman and other little girl all start to float and as I walk away they float after me.

as I'm walking away I hear Cato muttering." I have been here a year and I still can't get over the magic part or the godly part." I can't blame him it took me a while to believe a few things from these worlds. 

 I lay the people on the couch and tie up the adults . I grab the girls and take them to the kitchen.

" Piper can you Charmspeak them back awake they look a little skinny and I want them to eat." I look at her with pleading eyes. She took takes in the look of the girls and nods fast.

" Hey please wake up we have food for you." She  says her voice sweet but still powerful.

I look as the little girls start to wake up and look around. They see us and shuffle back a little.

" Hey its okay girls your safe here. We have a lot of food and we want you to eat. Could you do that for us." I ask sweetly not wanting to scare them. They look at each other then nod. " Okay we have a table right there and food in the fridge." I say pointing to the fridge and table.

They open the fridge and their jaws noticeably drop. " How do have so much food? And power? do you have-" She stops running to the sink she turns on the water and I can see the smile that appears on her face." Lizzie come here they have running water this is amazing we haven't had this since the prison and it was cold water , this is hot." She says to her sister. Her sister doesn't think the same though.

" How does this all work it shouldn't be possible. Mika you know this should not work. Running water, hot water for that. Food that does not perish you don't have a garden how do you get all of this food. You have cosmic brownies that should be gone. None of this is possible how do you do it?" The older girl Lizzie says she has a point Cato was like this but less hostile. I am not going to explain to her why it works I don't trust her.

" Well Lizzie we have a generator and our own well so we have power water and more. The food well I honestly don't know how it works. We found all of it in a store and its not rotten yet so I think it's a win. I would eat soon before my friends eat and y'all have nothing left okay? Once you're done eating you guys can take a shower how does that sound?" At the name of shower they take the food they want and fill their mouths. 

I hear groaning from the other room. Well I guess its time for us to take care of the adults. I put the baby down in a crib that was already in there and walked into the room with the now awake and angry adults.
