Everyone knew the danger of entering the forest at the edge of the village for it was fraught with danger and ghoulish creatures. The village elders had always told tales of the monsters and darker denizens such as wizards, necromancers, and all other sorts of beings seen as pariahs. Everyone feared the forest, everyone but a young woman of ethereal beauty and immense kindness. However because she had no fear of the forest she was seen as strange and an outsider to the others in her village. Some even began calling her a witch as she would always venture to the forest edge to go pick herbs for the healing salves and potions she made and sold.
So as time passed the villagers simply forgot about the young girl who was so kind to all, yet people are cruel. Some of the other young women became jealous of the girl. With her soft features and more than aesthetically pleasing style she would give off a lovely aura that the other young women couldn't stand. So as people do they began to cavil and gossip about the girl who wore flowers in her hair and had no fear of the forest. Sadly this meant that soon others would join in on the bullying and thus the kind girl with the flowers in her hair decided enough was enough. She packed a small bag of clothes and set off into the forest she loved, however there was one thing the villagers didn't know. The forest was alive with magic, and this special forest loved the girl that did not look upon it in fear and disgust. So as it happened, the forest decided to protect the girl in the only way it knew how along with help from some of the denizens. The forest along with its helpers built her a small cottage and garden so that she could live comfortably. It is said the girl, now a grown woman, has lived and stayed in the forest where she found a better home than the world of ignorance and vanity she lived in before.
The moral of this story my dear readers is this: even if all others turn against you, there will always be someone, or in this case, something that loves and cares for you.
P.S. This story was writen as a reminder to everyone who reads it that you're never truly alone.
