The gates

Water fell from the gray sky, menacing clouds covering the whole atmosphere. Lightning happening every so often, roaring like a dragon as it hits the earth. It was the start of the night, casting anything that wasn't darkened by the fog above into a barely visible darkness. A small shine of the day coming from the horizon, dimming as it went away in a carriage.

In the middle of nowhere was built a mansion. Stone walls covered the building from side to side, a rusty metal gate that was closed for so long. The place seemed abandoned, vegetation seeping in and out, taking the place over, overriding its existence. The house stood tall however, being the size of a hill, with the length and width of one. The dark wood that composed its structure looked rotten from afar, giving birth to new plant life, like the fertilizer it is.

Outside of its confines, right in front of the gates, stood a single tree. Away from any of the forest or plant life, it lived there, alone for miles. Resting on its trunk was a small drone. A male worker with silver hair. He wore a black butler suit, slightly unbuttoned on the top, revealing a white shirt underneath, with black pants and shoes. His dark clothes were muddy and dirty as he sat on the wet ground. His visor had a crack through his left eye, although it wasn't deep. The drone was turned off, not a single spec of energy in his body. In his hand was a rubber glove holding an envelope. Its paper was yellowish and was being protected from the rain by the branches and leaves of the tree.

The body stayed there, untouched by anything aside from some drops of water and winds. Until a lightning struck right at the tree, blinding the area and creating a loud sound. The energy was captured by copper wires wrapped around the tree's branches and it traveled to the drone's body.

The energy went inside the worker drone, giving his body a sudden jolt of electricity. The body did a small jump, taking his back off the tree and making it fall on the muddy ground. The screen turned on, displaying a message that the system was rebooting.

After the loading symbol went away, two white eyes appeared on the visor. They quickly narrowed in discomfort as the male moved his body. He slowly got up from the ground, feeling a little dizzy and disconnected from the world. His body hurt and couldn't move properly, but he felt a huge need to move. He had too much energy in his systems.

"What... W-What happened?" He said as he slowly got up, feeling the ground shake and move, despite not being before.

He put a hand on his head, but noticed that it was wearing a glove and holding something. He checked it, seeing an envelope with no name written. He opened it, grabbing a letter from inside. It read:

Elliot Mansion, 06/12/1976

You finally woke up, N,

If you're reading this, it means that my plan worked. I was able to transfer some sort of energy into your body. This is good, because I need your help. My mother went insane after dad died. She locked the entire mansion down, keeping the drones that were inside and forcing the ones that were outside to stay where they were. There's no indication she'll ever open the doors again. To make the situation worse, she's using my name and voice to make the workers accept the new reality. She's using my voice, because she knows they respect me more than they do her. So I really need your help N. Please come to my room, I'll be waiting for you here.

Come fast,

Tessa James Elliot

After reading, he looked at the mansion. The daunting building that towered over the drone. The windows had lights coming from inside, meaning that it was still working. However, the garden looked completely overrun with vegetation.

He walked to the gates, seeing that the metal was rusty, having a rough touch on the skin. He tried to pull the bars, but it resisted. He tried to push the bars, but it resisted. It was completely stuck in place and there was nothing N could do to pry it off.

He walked around the gate, finding a small gap on the side, seeing an officer cabin through it. It was empty, with everything thrown around and destroyed. There was a control panel in the corner of the room, but it was destroyed. The cables were cut off and the system was smashed. There was no way to open this gate from conventional methods.

N gave a sigh and looked around. He'd have to walk all across the sides of the mansion just to find a way in. It sounded boring, but he needed to enter. He began to stretch his limbs, lifting an arm and pulling it with the other.

A roar quickly came as a lightening rushed down. It was fast and N couldn't even react as the thunder hit his lifted hand. In fear, he checked his arm, but found no injuries, instead, a constant stream of energy coming out of his palm.

He looked at it with hollowed eyes. A blues stream of electricity concentrated in his arm was going around. He didn't feel anything, aside from his systems working overtime due to the scare. He slowly moved his hand, afraid it might activate a reaction, but nothing came. He moved his hand more, turning and closing it, but nothing happened. The stream continued as if it were contained in his being.

In a test, N snapped his fingers and the electricity on his hand snapped to the direction he pointed like a bullet. He was scared, but also fascinated by the situation. He looked to the small gap and smiled, knowing what to try next.

N climbed the gate as high as he could, trying to attract any lightning. The gate was slippery with the rain and the design on the metal didn't help the climb, but he was able to hold himself at half the bars. The drone extended his hand to the open and waited.

It wasn't long before another roar came down, sending the electricity to his palm. He was scared of repeating it, but it proved to be something he could do. He slid down the bar and went to the gap. He inserted his hand through it and snapped his finger in the direction of the control panel, sending a thunder in its direction.

The panel was automatically initiated, unlocking the gates. N looked to the side to see the bars distance from one another, giving path to the inside of the mansion. He didn't waste any time and went inside. Right before the energy of the control panel ran out, slamming the gates closed once again.

N noticed that the energy that his hand would pass to other objects was small, just enough to turn them on for a few seconds. This was good to know. He looked ahead and saw a forest that had dominated what once was a normal garden. He took a deep breath and continued on.
