Indy had one hand on the Jeep's steering wheel, as Em shifted gears.
"Brings back memories?" he grinned, watching her.
"I remember when you first taught Zev and I how to do this," Emily smiled.
"Were you flirting with him?" Indy asked. "It's ok to love someone, Em."
"I know that, Dad. But it's not Zev." She thought of her green eyed future child, measuring her daughter's features against Zev. "He's too much like an older brother."
They crested the hill. There was a strange half collapsed mound surrounded by stones.
"Whoa... this really doesn't belong here, Dad."
"It was more impressive before the mortar rounds hit it," Indy replied, stopping the Jeep.
Emily climbed out. "Why is there ash on the ground?"
"Could be from the volcano in Kamchatka..." Indy knelt and sniffed the black ash. "No. Too chemical. I bet when the US took back Attu island from the Japanese they used a flamethrower to clear the barrow."
"Nothing that can't be restored or repaired," Emily mused looking around. "Seen worse after you ran through them."
Indy chuckled.
She took a flashlight out of her artifact bag. "Let's have a look inside."
"Em?" Indy took her shoulder. "Let me go first?"
Emily stepped back. "Ok, Dad... but I'm coming in after you, even if things fall down."
"Wouldn't expect any less, Em."
