15 Minutes Later
Jones Ranch
Wyoming, 1960
Indy lay sideways on the couch, his bruised foot purple, swollen and iced with a bottle of alcohol. Marion walked in with two drinking glasses, swiping the bottle from him.
"Marion!" He protested.
"Its for the newlyweds," She replied, setting the bottle down on the hearth where Shorty and Lizavet cuddled. "And to celebrate our babies!"
"They're better looking than the monkey," Indy grinned, smiling at his two, now three grown daughters and one son.
Laurel clamored onto Indy's lap. "Story?"
He grinned and dropped his hat onto her head. Then he pointed at Emily, Shorty and Lizavet. "I told them all, 'Don't die, don't unleash any ancient evils, try not to make anything explode, and wake me up when we get there' - and then - we did all the things I told them NOT to do."
"All the things?" Laurel asked in wonderment.
"All the things," Indy echoed.
"Then why's your foot purple?"
"Because I didn't do the most important thing - tell Grandmama where I was going."
Marion grinned, climbing over the back of the couch and sliding between her husband and the couch's back. "I could have used the Mirror of Heaven to track you down. Henry called me. I wasn't helpless, Junior."
Annie smiled. "He was shocked he had two great grandchildren. We'll have to visit him sometime." She put her hand on Tyler's shoulder. The boy shrugged it off. Annie gathered her emotions before they could spill in anger or tears at her oldest son.
"Yeah. Em told Dad to call you, Marion," Indy admitted. "Not me. I was gonna try to just sneak out on another adventure. I'm sorry."
Marion stared at him, stunned. "You have changed."
Indy put his arm around her. "Did a lot of thinking and sharing stories on this trip. Wanted to make sure the kids didn't make the same mistakes we did." He glanced at Shorty and Lizavet. "Learned a lot of things too."
Lizavet smiled back softly. "You should tell her, Papa."
Indy swallowed and looked at Marion.
Emily spoke up, munching around an apple. "We turned the tables at the conference, chased a job, got to visit Grandpa Henry to ask the Mirror of Heaven -"
Marion smiled. "Aw... the Mirror of Heaven." She took Indy's chin. "That was our third date. The one we got married on..."
He turned to her. "That memory was stolen from me when Nazi Dr. Helmuth Gorund shot me."
She traced the scar above his eyebrow. "Maybe this'll help you remember." Then she kissed his scar.
"Worth a try," Indy admitted, pointing to his lip.
