Chapter1

PROLOGUE

I ran as fast as my legs would carry me through the woods trying my best to ignore the pain of twigs, thorns and stones piercing my feet slightly as I ran

I paused but only briefly to catch a breath, but then I heard the sound of feet or rather paws hitting tthe forest ground was enough to have me up and off again

I didn't know where I was going all I knew is that I had to get away I had to this sick game that he played had gone on long enough I needed to get away from the beast that doesn't deserve to be called m-m- my

Dad

That sadistic bastard had tormented me ever since mum had starting working nights along with day shifts she had to provide for me and my baby brother, Matthew ever since my dad lost his job and his sister

And in some sick way he pegged it all on me saying everything in this works that went wrong was some how my fault that it was my fault that all of this was happening to him

Like one time the Knights basketball team lost a game and he beat me s***less because of it

A lone tear slipped out of my as I pushed my mix off strawberry blond and red hair away from my face to wipe away the tears harshly from my face

Remembering that he hated it When I cried the beating would only get worse

I stumbled over a piece bramble and within seconds I felt a huge impact from my behind sending me flying into a tree in the clearing

I lay on the ground

My hair was showered with branches , twigs , thorns , pieces of holly bushes you name it

My cotton shorts where ripped and torn to its worst

And my NYC big t- shirt had been ripped across at the back

Something inside me always told me that daddy dearest was never a human

I knew deep down that he was something more .... Complex then that

A growl rang out into ye might as a black wolf came stood tall and high showing authority

I whimpered back in fear as he advanced onto me

I scrambled back as far as I could go before I was cornered against a tree

My eyes closes slowly as my death came

The black wolf lunged for me teeth enlarging ready for the kill

I said one last silent prayer to my mum and my baby brother asking God to protect them

I woke up screaming my lungs out

My mum was shaking me

"DAPHNE!!!!!!" My mum shouted at me

She reached a hand to touch my cheek, i flinched back still not used to the feel of being touched ....... by anyone

my mum gave me a hurt face before covering it up with a smile

"we're here" she whspered

"he cant hurt you anymore we're safe he wont find us....."she paused"and even if he oes he'll have to go through me before he harms a hair on your head , my baby" she whispered hugging me i clung to her afraid of what the future would bring

as i picked up my baby brother matthew and took ahold of my mothers hand we walked into our new three storey home

my mum was a lawyer so as you could imagine her job paid her very generously for her work considering that she was voted one of the top lawyers of the US last month

as the movers truck parked and men came out and started to move our furniture and stuff into the new house as i skipped up the porch steps i noticed that 1 house down from ours a black Bentley was parked in their drive along with a Mercedes Benz a Porsche and a Harley David motorbike parked to the side

Something inside of me was telling me to go and check it out and then something else was telling me don't be a fool and get inside the house before some1 sees you staring

I listened to the latter if you don't

know and scurried inside the house

As I descended the house i found that we have 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms

As I picked out a room , the biggest one, I saw that all my stuff in its boxes where already here , I walked Into my en-suite bathroom and smiled like a fat boy smiles at cake

My mum had picked out my dream room and boy was I having fun

I looked at the time and found that it was already 10:45

Crap I have to get some sleep I've got school tomorrow

After saying good night to my mum and brother I walked upstairs and looked through my boxes for my cotton shorts and my California babes top and then went to the bathroom to change

I put my hair into a messy bun and put of house socks then went back into my room

As I snuggled under the covers I thought about what has happened to me so far and how I really didn't want to go to school tomorrow there would be so many people and teenagers here I was an outsider it would never work the people here probably grew up together try would never allow me into their groups

Oh well I guess I'm just going to have to have to keep my head down get through my senior year and get out

I could already feel myself getting nervous at being around others

*sigh* why does my life had to be such a drag

I got comfortable in my bed before falling into a sleep that I didn't want to wake up from
