WARNING ⚠️ SMUT

The noise in the corridors of the main college building was unusually loud. Piper walked with her friend, Cassie, meandering between other students and hoping that the noise would be left behind her. But as the pair made their way through, the crowd of people seemed to get thicker and the noise became incessant male howling that was growing more amplified with every step.

"Maybe we should turn and go the long way," Piper's foot hesitated to take the next step but Cassie hooked her arm through Piper's.

"No way, we are not changing our route for some idiot boys heckling about sport," Cassie kept firm.

Piper still was not entirely convinced. The boys Cassie had referenced were your typical, silver spooned attendees who all somehow managed to end up on the college football team, with limited experience and deep pockets. The worst of them all was Rafe Cameron. It was just Piper's luck that she not only had to endure highschool with him tormenting the corridors indiscriminately, but she also had to witness the sequel at college.

They were getting closer now. The boys were hooting and hollering in a huddle, chanting whatever nonsensical football rhyme that was catching on. The girls quickly scooted round them, unlinking arms in order to squeeze past. Cassie had made her quick escape first with Piper just a step behind. Just as she was about to finally skip into the safe zone, something thick and solid barreled into her entire side. Her feet skidded until her other side was smacked into the wall.

"Oh shit," a voice sounded above the howling. He almost sounded amused.

"Are you fucking serious?" Piper snapped. She looked up at the boy who had body slammed her and whether intentional or not, Piper was not impressed. She almost faltered when her eyes clashed into Rafe's.

"Hey, I'm sorry," Rafe replied. Piper had to lift her head slightly to keep her eyes steady on his as Rafe loomed over her.

"Aw don't be like that Piper," he purred out.

"Like what?" Piper snapped.

"You look like you want to hurt me," Rafe said quietly, his low voice just a mere rumble so only she could hear.

"Maybe if you weren't jumping around like an animal, I wouldn't have been bulldozed into concrete. Forgive me if I'm completely out of tolerance for you right now." she replied. His eyes brightened, like something was ignited behind his pupils. They danced over her face, soaking in her sour expression.
Rafe hooked his fingers under the bag strap that had fallen off Piper's shoulder when he had bumped into her. He dragged it up her arm and returned it to its rightful place. As his hand left her shoulder, he made sure to brush the side of his thumb on the bare skin of her neck. Piper flinched back and away from his rogue touch. Judging by the snarky quirk of his lips, he had done it on purpose and was satisfied with the reaction he had coaxed out of her. He wasn't completely convinced by her distasteful look. Her guarded eyes sang a different tune and she hoped with everything he didn't notice how her skin prickled with static after his touch.

"I can make it up to you," Rafe said, "Take you to–"

"No thanks," Piper interjected. She took a large step to the side and turned her back to Rafe. It was better for her to keep her distance. There was always something unsettling about Rafe and she had worked too hard to let him pull her into his stratosphere. Piper quickly caught up to Cassie, who had waited during those few short moments between her and Rafe.
