Phoenix sat in the park near the big oak tree adding the last finishing touches to his letter , he'd been writing letters to Edgeworth for years but he's never gotten a response , he didn't give up though , he was sure he'd get through to him one of these days
while he wrote his closing statements , his phone rang
beep
" Feenie " he answered , tucking the phone in-between his face and shoulder , trying to slide the paper into the envelope
" Phoenix ! How's it going bud ! " it was Larry , Phoenix's childhood friend , he didn't go to a university like Phoenix did but he made sure to give Phoenix the space he needed to study
" Oh , Larry ! It's going pretty good , I aced my history test ! " Phoenix proudly remarked , finally getting the letter info the envelope , he grabbed his phone from his shoulder
" Awesome ! See ? I knew you would , are you still up for the arcade tomorrow ? "
" Wouldn't want to bail on ya ! " Even though Phoenix felt he was a bit too old for arcades , he decided to agree to Larry's suggestion of hanging out there , it's been a long time since he went anyways , it'd be nice nostalgia
" Great ! Oh wait - were you studying just now ? "
" Yeah actually but I was just about to head home " Phoenix began to gather his books into his bag , putting his phone on speaker
" How's Mia ? I heard her and her sister were planning some event " he'd overheard Maya rambling about some Christmas event she was planning for when the time comes , she said it'd be a special one
" Oh yeah ! Mia's doing alright , they even asked me and Fran to help out ! " Oh? Franziska? Does that mean
" Though , she didn't bring Edgeworth with her " Dammit .
" Ah well , if you guys need some extra help , I'm free " he stood up , picking up his phone
" Thanks buddy ! See ya 'round ! " Phoenix smiled , he bid Larry goodbye and hung up , he sighed , walking towards the front gate of the park , there was a mailbox in front of the fence
he approached it , staring at the envelope , was this really just a waste of time ? he even stopped signing his letters with ' Love , Feenie ! ' at the end thinking it might've made Edgeworth uncomfortable , or maybe he just didn't recognize the name ? he signed it with ' From , Phoenix ' this time , hopefully he'll respond to this one
