Shit.
As you were being carried, you remembered that you had left a certain someone behind. Spot.

"Oh shi-oot!"You quickly caught yourself, glancing at N, who had been carrying you. A flicker of realization struck—he seemed far too innocent to know any curse words.

"Hm? What's wrong?" he asked, his curiosity shining through.

"My dog! I left Spot!" Panic tinged your voice, urgency bubbling up within you.

"You have a dog!?" His tail began to wag rapidly, smacking against things and eliciting a few small yelps of "Ow!" as he bumped into them.

"It doesn't matter! Put me down!" you urged, adrenaline kicking in, and he complied immediately. "Uh, how do we leave?" You turned to Uzi for guidance.

"Were you not paying attention? I was having a dramatic moment about how I was escaping! We're literally leaving now! Honestly..." she huffed, annoyance lacing her tone.

"Okay, geez! No need to be so harsh..."

You soon approached what remained of a door, the sun glowing majestically on the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant purples and fiery oranges. You stepped outside with Uzi and looked back at N, who lingered in the shadows of an alleyway.

"You're not coming?" Uzi asked, disbelief creeping into her voice.

"Nah, the sun kills me!" he replied with an innocent grin that made you chuckle.

Shrugging it off, you kicked your pace into a run, adrenaline surging as you broke into a full sprint. Uzi groaned in exasperation behind you.

"I won't even bother!" she huffed, storming off in another direction, leaving you in a whirlwind of urgency.

Time Skip!!

You dashed back to your makeshift home, a small recreational vehicle, bursting through the door, only to be met with an empty space. The panic intensified as you called out your dog's name.

"Spot! C'mere boy! Spot?" You stepped outside, your heart racing. Your gaze landed on a trail of footprints—some small and some larger. Following the tracks, a sinking feeling hit you as the bigger prints faded, while the tiny ones stretched away, as if they were fleeing in a hurry.

"Is this... Spot's footprints?" A jolt of terror shot through you as you scanned the ground, adrenaline kicking in. You launched into a full sprint, calling out, "Spot! It's safe now! Whatever chased you away is gone!" The urgency fueled your pace until you stumbled upon a dark cave looming ahead. Heart racing, you hesitated for only a moment before bravely stepping inside, ready to uncover the mystery within! Your eyes laid upon a mountain of deceased worker drones, all empty shells. You wanted to stop and turn back, but you decided to climb up the mountain, partially believing Spot hid within it.

You continued to call out spots name before you reached the top of the mountain, and saw what you had feared the most. Spot had been turned into another empty shell like the other worked drones, another trophy to be forgotten. You covered your mouth in shock, letting out a small gasp as you fell to your knees.

"Spot... You must've been searching for me while I was away too long..." You gazed at the empty shell that had once been your anchor, a wave of guilt crashing over you for leaving him alone, ultimately leading to this heart-wrenching moment. With a heavy heart, you straightened up and hurried back to N, your expression a mix of sorrow and determination.

"What happened? Where's 'Spot'?" N asked, his voice laced with concern as he took in your troubled demeanor.

"Spot's gone... But I'm okay." you replied, diverting your gaze as you tried to mask the turmoil within.

"Oh... Are you really sure? You looked so worried about Spot..." He probed gently, searching for any hint of untruth in your eyes.

"Mhm," you nodded, trying to hold back a surge of emotions, knowing deep down that something had to change.

You sat beside N, the silence stretching out like an eternity. Thoughts raced through your mind about what could have been if you'd just steered clear of Uzi, if you'd stayed in your own lane. The allure of the once-vibrant planet called to you, memories of epic explorations with Spot flooding back. The nostalgia tugged at your heart, threatening to spill over, but then a sudden sharp jolt of pain shot through your visor.

"Ow!" You winced, the intensity of it drawing N's attention, his eyes filled with concern.

"You okay?" he asked, a hint of urgency creeping into his voice.

"Not sure... I think I might've cracked my screen back there..." You grimaced, instinctively shielding the visor, now trickling with a stream of oil.

"Oh no! That's not good! We need to find you medical help—like, right now!" His voice edged on panic, adrenaline coursing through both of you.

"No, no! I'm totally fine! Honestly, this has a certain... flair to it!" You attempted a playful tone, but the thumping pain cut through your bravado. "Or maybe not..." The thrill of the unexpected made your heart race, even as you tried to brush it off.
