Chapter 65: The Vision Returns
Fiver gathered his courage, knowing he had to warn the others. In the heart of the warren, he gathered everyone—Hazel, Bigwig, Hyzenthlay, and the others. His voice trembled as he recounted the chilling images that had haunted him: fields littered with broken forms, shadows closing in from all sides, a creeping sense of despair that gnawed at his spirit.
The others listened, their expressions growing tense. Even Bigwig, usually unshaken, couldn't hide a flicker of worry in his eyes. Fiver's words were filled with a weight he couldn't fully explain, and as he spoke, the vision began to take hold once more.
Without warning, he was pulled back into it—the sounds, the smells, the terror all crashing over him in an overwhelming wave. He staggered, clutching his head as the vision replayed, even sharper than before. The warren around him faded, and he was thrust back into the nightmare he'd tried so hard to escape.
When he came to, Fiver's breathing was shallow, and he could feel his stomach churn. The promise he'd made—to stay strong, to not let his visions shake him—lay shattered. He tried to steady himself, but the weight of the vision clung to him like a shadow. Looking at his friends, he could see their concern, their unspoken fear, and Fiver's heart sank, knowing he couldn't protect them from what he'd seen.
