Lara blinked a few times to adjust to the dark bedroom before rubbing her arms as a slight chill ran down them.

She realized why she was so cold when she reached for the blankets that she always covered up with, only to see that she had kicked them off somehow during the night as she tossed and turned in her sleep.

She pulled them back up over her arms and closed her eyes to fall back asleep.

But something was missing.

She wanted the comfort of you wrapped in her arms or your arms wrapped around her and realized that you had moved away from her in your sleep.

"Y/N?" She quietly and sleepily spoke. "Come closer."

She was too tired to talk too loudly and you were too deep in your sleep to hear her even if she did talk louder.

A groan left her lips as she moved closer to you and fought to keep her heavy eyes open.

"Baby? Are you awake?" She asked as she tapped your shoulder. "Y/N, baby?"

You didn't wake up right away, you just let out a couple of soft sounds and shifted around slightly.

"Baby, wake up."

She shook your shoulder and you opened your eyes a few seconds later.

"Hm? Lara?" You tiredly spoke before yawning. "What time is it?"

Lara hadn't even checked the time yet.

All she cared about until now was covering up to stop being so cold and then waking you for some cuddles.

She turned her head to look at the clock as you rubbed your heavy eyes.

"Four am."

"Why did you wake me up at four am?" You whined. "Better yet, why are you awake at four am? You have to get up in a couple of hours."

"I know. I woke up because I was chilly and I guess I kicked my blankets off in my sleep. But then I realized you were so far away from me on the bed."

"I'm sorry, I guess I rolled over a bit in my sleep."

"It's okay, baby," She said before biting her lip. "We can both go back to sleep in a few but I woke you because I wanted some cuddles. Will you please cuddle me?"

Despite how exhausted you felt, you couldn't help the smile that pulled at your lips.

Something about your girlfriend waking you up because she wanted to be cuddled warmed your heart immensely.

"Baby, you didn't even have to wake me up for that. You can always cuddle me, you know that."

You moved into her arms and a breath of relief fell from her lips the second she was holding onto you.

"That's so much better." She mumbled against your forehead as she laid a few kisses there. "I love you so much."

"I love you too, baby. I love you so very much."

You moved a little so you could lean in and kiss her lips and she happily kissed you back, her fingertips gently brushing along your skin as she did so.

"Do you think you can fall back asleep?" She asked.

"Yeah, I'm very comfortable. How about you? You've been awake longer than me."

"I will be perfectly fine. I'm cuddling with you and that's all I wanted and needed. Trust me, baby, I'll be able to fall back asleep no problem."

You shared a couple more soft kisses before you put your head on her shoulder and let your heavy eyes slip shut at last.

"Sweet dreams, Lara,"

"You too." She whispered. "Goodnight, angel."

"Goodnight, baby,"

She held you close and began to fall back asleep, so content and warm with you in her arms as she cuddled you tight and knew that she'd dream about you too.
