Naruto's P.O.V

It's already two thirty...! I put my phone back on the bed side table and buried my face on my pillow out of frustration after doing so. I'm so tired! I need sleep... (Ugh!) What is going on with me?! Everytime I close my eyes I can only think of her and her smiling face which prevents me from getting any decent sleep. It's been that way since Friday night. Sure, I had fun being with her but we just ate ramen. It wasn't anything too special...

I decided to stop trying to get some shut eye after a few more hours of relentless tossing and turning. I left my room quietly and headed to the kitchen to cook some ramen for myself only since I figured Ero-sennin won't like cold food. As I wait for the water to boil, I distracted myself by watching something interesting on TV. In the channel I'm on, a movie is playing and it's about an oblivious main character finally realizing he is head over heels in love with his best friend. Nothing but a typical romance movie but, for some reason, it made my mind wander again. All the memories I have of her instantly replayed in my head over and over until I was snapped back to reality by the sound of running water. I hurried to take off the lid of the pot so the boiling water will stop spilling. "(Sigh) I have to get it together!"

Sasuke and I were putting our shoes away when Sakura-chan approached us as soon as she saw us from the entrance. "*Ohayou, Sasuke-kun!" She says sweetly and shows him a beeming smile but turns around when she hears me let out a long sigh. "Whoa! You look like crap Naruto!"
*Good morning

"(Scoffs) I know, I didn't have much sleep all weekend."

"An idiot like you will probably find a way to sleep during class without getting caught."

Too tired to fight back, I just chuckled at his comment and made my way to our classroom without another word.

Although today is the first day of the medical exams, I don't have to worry about it until Thursday because that's when I have P.E. I spent most of my class time asleep since nothing of importance happaned anyway. By the end of it, I felt like I regained some of my energy and returned to normal. "*Mata ne." I bid the guys fairwell because I still have to go to work, but I'm a little hesitant on doing so today. Am I seriously considering not going just because I'll remember her?! Stop it already! I slapped myself hard and decided to keep myself busy so I'll be more focused on other things instead of her.
*See you (later)

Thursday...

I sat down on the hard ground in front of the vending machines near the nurse's clinic since I was done with the medical exam. As I opened the canned coffee in my hands, I heard light footsteps approaching me and followed by a voice that has plagued me for days now. "Uzumaki-san?"

"Yo, Hinata." Keeping my eyes cast downwards, I greeted her as natural as possible. "Excited for swim class?"

"Eto... I was but I can't..." Out of curiosity, I lifted my head up and saw her countenance twisted to form a wry smile.

"*Dooshite?"
*Why

She avoids the question by saying, "students are not allowed to purchase food or drink during breaks and even more so during class." She pressed a button and took a strawberry milk box from the vending machine and continued. "This way, we're partners in crime." She said as a joke and holds it out slightly, as if she's about to make a toast, with an innocent smile.

Who knew...? I laughed at her actions and gestured for her to take a seat next to me. "I'm glad it's with you." Although I noticed the light blush on her pale cheeks as soon as she was close enough, I ignored it because I know she's desperately trying to hide it from me. "If you can't be in the class, then what will you do for the rest of the term?"

"Ano, I still have to be in it but I just can't participate."

I didn't really have anything else to say about it so I just nodded my head and took a sip from my drink. We sat side by side, allowing the silence to embrace us after our small talk and it remaines that way until the bell rings. "We probably need to go back." I reluctantly stood up and nervously outstretched a hand to the shy girl before me. Her eyes were wide open in surprise and seemed to be unsure of what she should do next. She probably won't take it this time again... But it will be so awkward if I retrieve my hand now!

"What are you doing, Naruto?" A familiar raven haired boy approached us and looked passed me when he got close enough to notice her. "Oh, Hinata." He glanced at me then back at her and suddenly offers her his hand to help her up.

Hinata's P.O.V

Uchiha-san! Thank goodness! I was flooded with relief when he held his hand out and  grabbed it in reflex. Ah! It was only as I was pulled up that I realized what I had done, and it instantly caused me to glimpse at Uzumaki-san to search his face of any reaction. I-I can't tell what his thinking at all! My shoulders slumped and my eyes focused on the floor because I was very ashamed of being so rude to him. He was just being nice... He snapped me back to reality however with a genuine question.

"You two know each other?"

"Yeah,we came across each other a couple of times." Uchiha-san replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the world and I could only timidly nod my head.

"Oh. That's cool."

I cautiously peeked at the owner of the voice and, to my surprise, he was expressionless. Oh no! I really did offend him!

"We should go. I'll see you around, Hinata." The onyx eyed boy said and messed up my hair with a small smile.

"Oi, *baka. We ought to go now or else we'll be scolded by Iruka-sensei if we're late to class." He had his blue eyes fixed on his friend but briefly looks at me to casually say, "*ja ne." With a bright smile, he turned his back and they walked toward the boy's locker room.
*Stupid or fool, *see you

"Hinata, what's wrong with your face?"

I touched it and, sure enough, it was warm so that can only mean I was tomato red. Again. "N-Nothing at all." I answered Karin-san who simply shrugged her shoulders and continues to head for the girl's locker room. I better go too before the bell rings.
