The following day, Jungkook sat at his office desk, determination firm in his mind as he dialed Do-yun's number. After a few rings, Do-yun's voice came through, sharp and guarded.

"Hello "who is peaking

I'm jungkook

"Jeon Jungkook," Do-yun's voice had an edge of impatience.

Jungkook exhaled, steadying his tone. "Do-yun, I'm calling to talk about Jimin," he began. "He's happy with me, and I need you to understand that. He wasn't forced into this life. Jimin chose to be with me."

A mocking laugh echoed on the other end of the line. "You really expect me to believe that?" Do-yun sneered. "I know Jimin better than anyone. He agreed to marry you because of his father's health. He's bound to you, but not by love—he did it out of duty."

Jungkook's jaw clenched. "If you really loved Jimin, you'd respect his choices. I invited you to come with us to Jeju next month for Taehyung and Yoongi's wedding. See it for yourself—see that Jimin is genuinely happy."

There was a pause before Do-yun spoke again, his voice low. "Fine, I'll come," he agreed, but in his tone lingered a challenge. After a brief silence, he muttered to himself, "You're a fool, Jeon Jungkook. I'll make sure Jimin realizes he still loves me. You handed me the chance on a silver platter."

When Jungkook hung up, a chill ran down his spine, but he pushed it aside, focusing on his determination to end this once and for all.

That evening, over a quiet dinner at home, Jungkook brought it up to Jimin. "I spoke with Do-yun today," he started, glancing at Jimin's expression as he hesitated for a moment. "He's still convinced you're not happy, that you're only with me because you had to be. So... I invited him to Jeju. I thought if he saw us together, really saw it, he'd let go and move on."

Jimin paused, his fork hovering in mid-air as he stared at Jungkook, surprised. "You... invited him?"

Jungkook nodded, searching Jimin's face for understanding. "I know it's awkward. But I think it's the best way to make him understand. Trust me, Jimin-ah."

After a beat, Jimin's gaze softened, and he nodded, his hand reaching out to squeeze Jungkook's. "If you think it's best... then okay. I trust you, Jungkook."

The next day, Jungkook's office phone buzzed with an unexpected call. He answered, and Kim Namjoon's familiar voice came through.

"Jungkook, is it true what Yoongi told me?" Namjoon's tone held both curiosity and concern. "Are you really inviting Do-yun to the wedding? He's Jimin's ex—don't you remember everything you went through to earn Jimin's love and trust? It's only been a year since the two of you started living as true partners."

Jungkook's voice softened, conviction underlying his words. "I remember, hyung. But Do-yun's been struggling, and I can't let Jimin carry the guilt of it anymore. This feels like the only way."

A heavy pause filled the line before Namjoon sighed. "I hope you won't regret this, Jungkook."

Jungkook set down the phone, looking over at the photo of him and Jimin on his desk, their smiles bright and genuine. He traced a finger over Jimin's face in the frame and whispered to himself, "I won't."
