After World War 2 in 1945 and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan became a democratic country and gave most of the countries which it invaded its territory back but still kept a large territory in nowadays China.

The Japanese did not like the idea of having just a democratic government but wanted a constitutional monarchy. The people decided to give the throne back to the Nakamura family, who lost their power in the mid-1600s.

The people decided to give the power to Kenji Nakamura and his wife Himari Nakamura. They both were the ages of 35 and they had 2 children, Sana and Minato Nakamura.

Sana, a girl, originally was supposed to be the heir, but due to the constitution of Japan, the birth of her brother meant that Sana was displaced in the line of succession. However, the Japanese people wanted Sana to become Japan's first female monarch, so her father decided to convince the government of Japan to allow the change in succession. And on July 6th, Sana's 18th birthday, Sana was sworn into the Japanese constitution, something which each heir does when they come of age.

But, at the age of 20 and 19, Sana and Minato were coming back from a diplomatic meeting in the UK, and because of the paparazzi followed them from Haneda Airport. They got chased and the driver tried to go as fast and safe as he could, but he crashed into a wall while making a dangerous u-turn.

Due to the death of both heirs, Kenji and Himari had no remaining children to act as heirs and due to their advanced age of 55 years old, the chances of Himari getting pregnant was rather sparse and if they did, it could cause many complications during birth. So to maintain the line of succession, the throne was suppospassed to Kenji's younger brother, Akio, but he was a frequent playboy and had numerous children with different mothers and the Japanese people would revolt if Akio did take the throne. The final option was King Kenji's youngest brother, Prince Akihito. Prince Akihito was young only 40, and he had a great reputation and was extremely well-liked by the Japanese and his whole family. So in 1980, on December 19th, King Kenji abdicated his throne to his youngest brother Akihito, and his wife Mai, making his 8-month-old daughter, Mina, crown princess.

Mina was a great student and a great artist. Mina has numerous art pieces placed in galleries all over Japan, and a few are in New York. At the age of 16, Sana got a scholarship to the Saint Charles International School, one of the best schools in the world, in Switzerland. At this school, she met her future husband.
