A low sigh passed Niklaus' lips after he drowned another shot, leaned back in his chair as he manspread, his head tilt to the side.

His mind was swirling with thoughts, he heard whispers of an human Katherine look alike and he wasn't sure if the little whispers were true or not.

But then again Katherine never had any children or well so he had thought. Was the whispers of an human doppelganger true or not? Did she actually exist? Will he be able to break his curse? But does he really to travel all the way to Mystic Falls just to be disappointed?

No.

Of course that's only if this girl did not exist and he could always just send in someone to look and see for him.

The sound of his phone ringing caused him to groan before he ordered another round of shots. He then tugs his phone from the pocket of his jeans and lazily glances down at it.

He arches a brow, seeing an unfamiliar number flashing across the screen and debates on answering. He couldn't deal with another 'wrong number' right now. Those only annoyed him and made him murderous. Why couldn't people double checked numbers before calling?

"To answer or not to answer," he sighs out to himself, his voice dripping with utter boredom and thick with an accent that made women swoon. Even when he was threatening them.

Maybe he should answer as it could be anyone. But it could also be some really annoying pest that insists that they have the right number when they really don't.

As he thought about answering the call, his phone stopped ringing and he shrugs and goes to push it back into his pocket, just as it started ringing again.

"Bloody hell," he grits out as he looks at his phone again while a shot was placed before him. Niklaus nearly rolls his eyes seeing as the same number from before was flashing across his screen again.

Might as well answer, he thinks with an annoyed groan before he swiped across the screen, placing the phone against his ear.

"What?" He grunts out into the phone as his slender fingers rubbed the rim of his shot glass. "Oh, well hello to you as well, Niklaus." A familiar voice says from the other side of the phone, causing Niklaus to blink in surprise.

Am I dead? He thinks as his eyes squint while he sat up, his grip onto his phone tightening slightly.

Why was Elijah calling him of all people right now?

Did he miss the older male? Yes. Would he ever admit that? No.

"Well if it isn't Elijah," Niklaus says with sass that only he can deliver, unable to see the way that his older brother's lips twitched upwards at the sound. Did the older male miss Niklaus? Yes. He missed the simple times when all they worried for was hiding from the wolves and the fact that they needed to find good wives.

He missed the times when they were all close and stuck together, like a family as they once were.

Everything changed though and Elijah is noy sure if they could ever get that back. But he's willing to try if everyone else is too.

Little did he know, Niklaus thought the same thing while he stared at the shot glass on the table before him. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" He asks with a low hum. He was surprised that he was called by Elijah but more surprised that he knew his mumber.
