Chapter 21: Cruel

Coco's POV
At lunch I can't stop thinking about Bailey and Simba. I hope not too much trouble could happen. For lunch was chicken or veggie wraps. I got chicken of course. Today we got a smaller table so it was just my friends and I. I told them all about everything. "Simba's definitely a tomcat." Akira said to me.  "he honestly sound like a showoff." Izzy said. "Girls you were meant to live 5 minutes ago." Miss Nina told us. Huh is that why no one else was here. "Oops sorry Miss, we didn't realise!" Katerina quickly apologized. We went out. We all went in different directions to our cabins. I walked past the lake. It looks so beautiful. I felt like skimming a stone on the water. But I can't skim unfortunately. Suddenly I felt a kick on my butt and tumbled and fell into the freezing cold lake! I screamed as I fell in. I turned around to be faced with Aina, Amber, Delilah, Glitter and Layla. They were laughing. "Oops." Aina said. "Nice one Aina!" Amber said to her. "Coco!" Izzy came running in my direction. She was about to help me up when she got pushed in too! "You can join her!" Delilah said and she kicked Izzy in. "Ahhh!" Izzy got shocked and fell in the lake with me. "Akira's coming!" Glitter loud whispered to the rest of them, they quickly ran off. Akira, Katerina and Paisley came to us and helped us out. "What happened?" Paisley asked us. "Aina pushed me in the lake and Delilah pushed Izzy into the lake." I explained, "those cruel fleabags! I'm sick of them. What does Dusty and James see in those two?!" Akira said. "I heard Amber and Cosmo are now dating!" Katerina randomly said as we walked off. "No they're not! No way Amber likes Cosmo!" Paisley said to her. "No they are not dating and Amber does like Cosmo. They are 'unofficially official' so not dating yet." Akira corrected. "You know this, how?" I asked her. "Amber announced it all to our cabin last night." 

Amber's POV
That was hilarious! It was crazy. But I was a bit upset at Glitter - she made it look like we're scared of Akira. Which we're not, at least I'm not. The rest of them probably are, which is stupid. What's Akira going to do? Fight us? She doesn't have it in her. "Glitter why'd you even do that?" I asked her as we trailed off in a group. "Do what?" "Whisper 'Akira's coming' you made us sound scared of her." I said to her. Clueless Glitter! "Don't blame Glitter, she saved your butt from Akira's claws." Delilah snarked at me. Which she would go jump in a pool of mud and stay there. "Akira's claws? Ha. She probably gets them clipped, they're probably like a blunt pencil." I said. I doubt they are but no way am I ever going to say that. "You don't clip your claws?" Layla questioned. "Of course I do! But I don't make them blunt! I keep them reasonable but with a little bit of sharpness." I said.

Elton's POV
"Hey! Don't hang your wet towels like that!" Jack said to me. "Oops sorry!" How silly am I? Why would I hang my wet towel on the bunk rails, they were of course going to drip onto Jack! He's on the bottom bunk. Duke, Dusty, Jack, James, Kane, Leo and Leonardo are in my cabin. None of my friends. Duke and Kane are happy to have gotten each other, Dusty, James and Leo couldn't be more stoked. But there's Jack, Leonardo and myself. We're like the oddballs in the cabin. More like lonely. My cabin sticks in two groups. Majority and minority. I'm in the minority with Jack and Leonardo. Today I met an annoying guy named Simba. He's a stirrer. The girls reckon he's a tomcat. Which he probably is. Mr Zeus is our teacher for the cabin. He says we're doing archery and we'll get fruit roll ups! I've never done archery before so I'm really excited. Mr Zeus got us out of the cabin and took us down to the archery range. I honestly can't believe how big this camp is. So many opportunities. This camp I'm staying good and sensible. At least I'm trying. I don't want to make the same mistake I did with Zane last camp when we snuck out and I almost got expelled - yikes!  I'm kind of annoying by Zane, he's trying to set me up. He's doing the same with Stewart. I'm glad Atlas and Bailey aren't getting involved in it. I think the fruit roll ups are the ones with the tongue tattoos. "Everyone! Get yourselves a bow an arrow." Mr Zeus instructed us. We all did as we were told. "Pick a bullseye. Split up into two groups." Of course the majority and minority split. Mr Zeus looked at the majority. "You can't all stay there. Need 1 to go over there." By over there, Mr Zeus meant us. Dusty, James and Leo made it clear to Duke and Kane that they weren't moving. "Since you guys can't decide, Duke you can go over." Duke sighed and came over to our side. He didn't look at all impressed. Mr Zeus taught us how to use the bow and arrow. I got mine in position and missed the bullseye - by a mile. "It's okay Elton. Just go to the back and try again on your turn. No matter what - I was still hopeless. Needless to say, archery's probably not my thing. As well as musical knowledge. I still think deep down viola is a fancy word for violin. Even if I'm wrong, I should be right. My opinions are controversial but I couldn't care less. Back at the cabins, James flopped down on his bed and sighed. "Why doesn't Delilah like me?" I felt like asking, why do you like Delilah? "Who knows, James? Sure you have someone else who likes you." Dusty said. "Easy for you to say." James said sternly. It was easy for Dusty to say - he has secret admirers every where he goes, despite having a girlfriend. But he has bad taste. He's with Aina. But he liked Akira once. Dating must be complicated - exactly why I plan to stay away from it. Imagine the arguments and jealousy they would happen time to time! Everyone talking about you and your dramas. Ugh. What a nightmare. How do they all do it?

Cindy's POV (after dinner)
We had sausages and chips for dinner with chocolate pudding for dessert, my favorite dinner and dessert here! Tonight we're all sitting around the campfire. There's multiple log benches set up. I sat with my friends on one. We started roasting marshmallows too and making s'mores! We played some games and it was really fun. Tonight I reckon I'll actually be able to get to sleep. Can't believe tomorrow is our last FULL day! Tomorrow night is when we plan to have our midnight feast though. Hopefully we won't get caught! Fingers crossed!
