The day had finally arrived—draft day. Emory's heart raced as she sat with Marvin's family, surrounded by the excitement and nerves that filled the room. As the first round progressed, she felt a mix of joy and anxiety.
When Marvin's name echoed through the speakers, announcing his selection by the Arizona Cardinals, the room erupted in cheers. Emory jumped up, her heart soaring as she ran to Marvin, wrapping her arms around him tightly.
"You did it! Arizona is lucky to have you!" she exclaimed, tears of happiness streaming down her face.
Marvin held her close, his heart pounding with exhilaration. "And I'm lucky to have you. This is just the beginning!"
To celebrate, they decided on a spontaneous trip to Sedona, where the stunning red rock formations awaited them. As they explored, hand in hand, Emory looked at him with awe.
"Can you believe how far we've come? From tangled cords to this?" she said, laughing softly.
Marvin grinned, his eyes shining. "And to think, I was just trying to impress you with my knot-tying skills."
