Ollie killed Willow in a fit of rage and as Willow died, her blood flowed through the forest, enchanting it.
That's how the story had always ended, the story of how the town of Willowwood came to be.
Many years ago, two human- like beings named Ollie and Willow were the gods of the forest, ensuring peace throughout the wooded area.
Well, that was Willow's job. With her bare hands, she molded the tall trees that covered the lands out of twigs. She tended to the plants, stretching the grass to make sharp vines that entangled the floor. Willow had the ability to create, to make something out of nothing.
Ollie didn't have that ability. Instead, she helped Willow move the trees, distributing them all throughout their land. She'd make the vines come to life, leave them slither on the floor like snakes. Ollie could make things movewith nothing more than just a thought.
Together, the two of them made the forest, as well as the village residing in it. They decided to name the area Willowwood to commemorate Willow's great efforts to create the land.
This is where the story turned for the worst. Willow was a lot more outgoing, the legend goes. She'd always be outside helping the villagers with their daily tasks, whether it was to help their crops grow or to feed the cattle. Willow was always there to help. Ollie was arrogant;;selfish even, and chose to live her life similarly to a phantom.. She'd stay in the shadows, taking care of her own tasks.
As a result of her isolation, Ollie was seen as useless. The villagers believed that she was selfish and jealous of Willow so she locked herself away and didn't show her face to anyone anymore.. They decided to only follow and pray to Willow; leaving Ollieoutcasted and ignored, only to be Willow's shadow. The story goes that Ollie finally saw the villagers distaste of her, and decided she needed the same recognition as Willow.
They began having arguments, Ollie now furious that Willow was the only one getting credit for their work. She'd stir up chaos in the village like throwing boulders at innocent peoples houses;blood started to shed. Being the vigilante she was, Willow stood up for her town. It would be her first and last battle.
She was no match for Ollie, her rage overflowing. Willow was thrown to the ground immediately. Thankfully, she wove an earthly sword in her hands and attacked Ollie with it. Ollie quickly managed to grab hold of it and fatally plunge it through Willow's heart. It was told that when it was struck the heart bloomed. Remnants of the heart started flowing throughout the forest, and the trees began to change colors. From the warm caramel trees Willow had created, it seemed she had enchanted them, as they now had soft violet and turquoise leaves, with glistening white trunks.
Ollie's fate isn't known. Some people believe that she succumbed to her wounds in the forest, others argue the villagers burned her at the stake for harming their creator. Whatever it was, Ollie was never seen again, and that was that.
At least... that's what we were always told.
