First person POV!!
I don't know what I am, and part of me never wants to find out. My memory is a blank slate; I can't recall a single moment before now. What horror lurked in my past that made me willing to forget? Was it truly by choice? The questions swirl in my mind. What am I? Who was I before? Did I have a family, a life? Those files might be irretrievably lost in my system, but I can't shake the thought—what if I could somehow recover them?
It feels like an eternity ago when the humans wreaked havoc, tearing apart the very core of our planet. I was one of the first drones born from another—a marvel of technology, yet my existence was like a dark cloud over my creator. My mother? She saw me as a cursed creation. I was different, a misfit among the others. Only she seemed to notice, and that's why she turned her back on me in hatred. Back then, I was just a child, desperate to understand.
Then came the fateful day of the invasion—the day disassembly drones stormed copper-9, bringing chaos and destruction in their wake. I was frantically searching for my mother, clinging to the hope that she could save me. But she vanished! No trace, as if she had leaped into thin air, leaving me behind. Just when I sensed danger approaching—one of the relentless disassembly drones locked onto me. My instincts kicked in, and I ran with every ounce of energy I could muster.
Finally, in a whirlwind, I found her. But instead of refuge, she met me with a glare full of disdain and hatred. In that moment, she left me to face the storm alone. My heart shattered. I never anticipated that my own mother would abandon me without a word, without a hint of remorse. Confusion and terror engulfed me as I stood there, paralyzed by the betrayal.
And then it happened—I blacked out. The details of that day slip away like sand through my fingers. But when I finally opened my eyes, chaos surrounded me. I found myself staring at puddles of oil seeping across the floor, with dark stains marring my shirt and the strange liquid dribbling from my mouth. It wasn't mine, but the sweet, rich flavor tantalized my senses like nothing I had ever experienced before. It was utterly delectable—an intoxicating taste that still lingers in my memory.
What I would do to taste it once more.____________________
