Only twenty days were left until the wedding. The house was filled with joy and laughter; every corner was lit up with celebration, laughter echoed through the halls, and lights adorned the walls. But there was one room where silence prevailed.
In one corner of that very room, sitting with her back against the wall, hugging her knees to her chest, was Rohi Khan—quiet and withdrawn. Tears streamed from her gray eyes, silently soaking her cheeks.
“Sara... Abba isn’t agreeing. I clearly said no, but he’s still holding onto his decision,” Rohi’s voice was heavy with sorrow.
Sara, her close friend and cousin, quietly came and sat beside her. She knew the storm raging inside Rohi’s heart. It was a strange coincidence—Sara’s wedding was also on the same day, and her in-laws were the same family. Anas, the man Rohi was supposed to marry, was the brother of Asad, Sara’s soon-to-be husband.
The only difference was—Sara had agreed. She had found her happiness in her parents’ wishes. But Rohi’s heart belonged to someone else—Faisal Rehman.
Sara gently held Rohi’s hands and said softly, “Rohi, have patience... If allah wills, everything will be okay.”
Rohi shook her head helplessly and wiped away her tears. “No, Sara... Nothing will be okay. I can’t live without Faisal. He’s my love—my first and last. And Abba... instead of understanding my feelings, he wants to hand me over to someone else. This is force, this is injustice!”
Despite the tears brimming in her eyes, Sara kept herself strong. “Rohi! Stop crying. I know exactly how you feel, but what can be done now?”
A moment of silence followed. Then, a sudden spark lit up in Rohi’s eyes—the kind that often precedes a life-altering decision.
“I’ve made up my mind, Sara. If they force me into this, I won’t accept it. I won’t think about them anymore! I... I’ll run away!”
Sara was stunned. “Rohi! What are you saying? Have you lost your mind?”
There was a strange madness in Rohi’s eyes—a haunting mix of pain and determination. “Yes, Sara! I will leave! I won’t go through with this forced marriage. My will, my happiness—everything has been trampled. I won’t stay silent anymore. If I don’t gather the courage now... I might become a living corpse—breathing, but never truly alive.”
Tears welled up in Sara’s eyes. In a soft, pleading tone, she said, “Don’t do this, Rohi... What about your parents? Their hearts will break.”
A cold resolve settled over Rohi’s face. “When they never cared about my happiness... why should I carry the weight of their sorrow? How long must I keep getting crushed under their decisions?”
Silence engulfed the room once again. Only Rohi’s tears fell, and Sara’s quiet sighs echoed the helplessness she felt.

Two days had passed.
Rohi had made up her mind. Every step, every moment—carefully planned. She had asked for help from Neha Farooq—the one person she trusted blindly. And Neha, without a second of hesitation, had agreed.
Rohi and Neha’s bond wasn’t just a friendship—it was deeper than sisterhood.
Now only one thing remained—telling Sara.
