Alex and Adam were twin brothers and were 16 years old. They liked wandering downtown Toronto, but one day the got lost. They were around the Jane and Finch area and they had no idea how to get back home. Suddenly they heard yelling, the brothers turned around to see three boys in their twenties walking and screaming saying “Get lost or you will pay!” they all had tattoos of snakes wrapped around their arms. Alex and Adam both knew that the three guys were in a gang. The biggest out of the three step in front and said “We know that you two are cops so leave our turf or you will pay!” the guy that talked was obviously the leader because the others just stood there nodding their heads. “We… We are not cops… we are l…lost.” Alex said shaking, terrified of the three. “Sure you are. Now let’s see if you will tell us who you really are or not.” the leader said he picked then up like they weighed nothing and brought them to an alleyway.

The smallest one stepped in front and smiled, and then he raised his first and punched Adam in the gut and Alex as well. The brothers tried to fight the gang back but it was hard, they were hurting to much. Then the two “sidekicks” left and the leader started to laugh “This is going to be fun.” he said. The twins were really tired, but fighting back was the only way they could survive. Alex had a black eye and a cut on his arm and Adam had a broken rib and a huge cut on his cheek. The leader was getting tired too but he would not stop, he was too determined to take a break. Then the “sidekicks” came back, Alex moaned.

They came and the leader took a break and watched the other two beat the brothers up. Then for no reason the “sidekicks” stopped and stood over Alex and Adam. “What are you going to do to us?!?” Adam said holding his stomach almost pleading for them to stop. “You’ll see.” The leader said standing up. “Snake’s Nest has a good reputation.” “Snake’s Nest?” asked Alex looking the leader with a questioning look. “Me, Todd,” pointing to the guy beside him who was skinny and tall with a hunched back so he was not as tall as the leader “and Greg.” This was the boy who punched the brothers in the gut the night before. “We are the gang called Snake’s Nest, and you two are our 10th victim and that means you two are special.” “I don’t feel special I feel something that was run over by a car.” Adam moaned holding his cheek and mumbled “You’re not helping.” “Your brother is…” Suddenly, the leader was knocked to the ground and Todd and Greg went over to see if he was okay. That was their mistake. There standing in the alleyway, was a man who came out of no where, he yelled “RUN!!” the twins got up and started to run. Five blocks away the boys stopped and the man came running behind them. “Thank…you.” Adam panted. “No problem, let’s take you to the hospital. You probably lost a lot of blood and those bruises look really bad.” The man drove the twins to the hospital. The twins thanked the man for saving their lives a lot. When they got out of the hospital the man was not there and they never saw that man again, but Adam and Alex never forgot the man who saved their lives that night.
